hi sebastian since i'm not interested in all those features of legion go like disassembling joypads and similar things i read that rog ally has the same performance of legion go and is basically completely handheld, do you think it's better for me to buy rog ally saving 100-150 euros on legion go? It doesn't change much for me in terms of price but it seems more comfortable to me, even the fact that is smaller and maybe it's even more "unlockable" than the legion go from what it seems. The only problem is the battery so then i should still buy a nice portable charger that still costs a hundred euros not little, is so different the battery betwenn rog ally and legion go?

You have to remember there are multiple versions of ASUS Rog Ally , 1. Rog Ally Z1 2. Rog Ally Z1 Extreme 3 (new) Rog Ally X This is the Ally Z1 Extreme model, which has the same processor as the Legion Go. I personally prefer the Ally over Legion Go, but I wish it had a bit bigger screen. The battery is different too, so a good power bank would be great.

I was impressed by the performance of the Ally. However, I was disappointed by the battery life. Felt like a race against time. I returned it but Im waiting for the new Ally X!

The ally X will be good especially for emulators and the battery life is a slap in the face to previous ally owners.

How do you enable the custom 18w game mode ? I can only do the 3 preset ones

Change the wattage on the manual mode

Go into the setting in armory crate, then go to power modes, and if its your first time it will give you a warning running manual custom settings, once you check the box the new "manual mode" will permanently be the 4th mode on your device.

I only bought mine 2 weeks ago and I love it. I rarely use it as a handheld and it's always docked and used as a desktop. I heard about the SD card issues so I just use mine as extra storage and run nothing from it. A great and affordable way to get a good gaming pc

I'm picking mine up in 2 days, can't wait. Love my LCD Deck to death, but I'm craving more power for the big hitters like FF16 and Black Myth Wukong. SteamDeck isn't gunna cut it

I'm sure You will love the extra power that it will give You! 😄 Don't know how these two games will perform on it, but for sure it's much stronger than the steam deck. And it also opens up the possibility to play other games, from other launchers 😄

I usually like to wait at least 6m to a year before I make a purchase like this windows wasn’t optimized straight out the box between the sd cd being destroyed on some units and other issues I bought a steam deck I love it but ima by rog next z1 because it’s a few games not many I want to play that’s I’m not able to on my deck

Love the Ally. Only problem I have is no sleep feature. Hibernate always breaks for me.. besides that its perfect.

That's definitely one of my least favorite things about it 😅 even worse when on an airplane - it turned of assassin's Creed Valhalla, and because of no internet connection I could get back into the game 😅

​​@@SebastianDylagthat's the tricky part, I normally play games that can't be played on the SD like Fc24 or Warzone, Rocket League (it can be played but I need for more than 60hz) but as I haven't played those games on a handheld, I don't want to get the Ally X just to discover the screen is too small to play COD or FIFA :( Im trying to play more single player games and some emulation, the SD is the best for that, I truly love it and I have not complaints, but I still want, or wish to play fifa and COD handheld. This is coming from someone who hasn't tried a windows handheld yet.. Note that I can sell my SD and get the Ally X, it's going to be a big effort because I can't spend more money on gaming, but it's a sacrify I'm willing to do if you tell me those games play extremely well on handheld. Thanks a lot for replying!

@@SebastianDylag I had z1 nin extreme and it did impress me a lot, time spend with it i consider amazing all thanks to the courtesy of return policy at best bay. Waiting now for the x model to appear. The game it self is stunning looking and is a joy to explore. I am playing with rtx 4080

Yes, You can play all of Your offline PC games. But there are some problems with playing/starting some games (depending on the games launcher) when You are offline.
