The keyboard cover appears to be custom designed for use on top of the MacBook. I put the keyboard on the keyboard cover (notch to the back to access the slider), then put it on my MacBook. The four flat rubber pads rest perfectly on the flat raised deck of the MacBook for rock solid traction.

This checks all the boxes for me. I can't deny the Lofree sounds nicer, but I don't want to fuss with charging weekly or connection issues. I think the sound profile is actually pretty nice for an office, quiet and not too clacky.

It appears as if those key switches and key caps were designed specifically for rigidity and to minimize wobble. I'm not a gamer either, but I can see what they were going for here. It would be interesting to hand this keyboard off to a gamer who really wails on the keyboard to see what they think of it -- to see if it actually delivers on what they were going for. This could well be worth what you give up for compatibility.

Competitive gamer here. Feels really good to game on, very stable and good key press feel. It has a bit of a learning curve due to the combination of 65-to-60% form factor and 1mm actuation point, making it easier to misfire a key compared to most other keyboards. On the other hand, it allows you to slide your fingers across the board very naturally. Falchion has also seen some pro play in the shooter scene, so that's a tangible example as well. I can also vouch for the battery life as presented in the video. I've only had to charge this thing ONCE despite 50% RGB brightness uptime. Both the wireless and bluetooth connections have been working flawlessly, and from my experience Asus' speednova tech is among market leaders. If you can snatch this on sale, it's well worth it imo. Small add: competitive MMORPG (top 0.1% PvP and PvE) and formerly CCG and MOBA player (top 0.35%). I'll add that imo Corsair Darkstar is the best competitive MMO mouse at the moment, and if ASUS ever updates their non-FPS mouse line, I'd like to see them take cues. Another good option is Logitech's G502 X, but it has less keys. Excellent ergo and casual gaming mouse, though.

Just got mine today and it is a lovely quieter option for people who're looking for a quieter yet still mechanical keyboard, the letters arent that easy to accidentally press and it does come with a clear plastic sticker across the mirror finish strip at the top, you can keep it on to prevent fingerprints (which ill probably be doing, lol) on the bottoms of the keycaps all have little icons telling you what they do when pressed while holding th FN key aswell which is fantastic if you have a memory as bad as mine overall feels great, sounds great, love it so far.

design wise and flatness wise, THIS is the keyboard iam looking for.. if it were a 100% board with standard layout. my problem is, the perfect keyboard for me, doesnt not exists. i currently have a g815. the metal housing is great on that, the size is perfect, layout perfect, yet the switches feel kinda cheap and the caps do too. it doesnt feel like a ~150 buck keyboard experience. so what iam looking for, is something like a better g815

How would you compare this to an HE keyboard? Response times negligible since it got such low travel?
@semiprotech3 ай бұрын
The latency performance of this keyboard is excellent according to the tests that rtings.com does, it's actually nearing HE territory. The polling rate of 1,000Hz over wired is not bottlenecked and the single-key latency result was 1.9ms which is very low for a non-HE keyboard. The feel of the switches is also very smooth, but not quite the same feel as HE switches and of course less travel.
@calebs2crazy3 ай бұрын
@@semiprotech awesome to hear thank you. I always thought with these measurements being so close it would be negligible and now it's just personal preference. I'm getting one of these and the cidoo 75c and I'm going to choose between the two. I always felt I played better on low profile for gaming.

I'm new to keyboards and stuff so what are the meaning for switches like do they improve gaming or something and what's the difference between red and blue switches
@clemsb66934 ай бұрын
There are many different type of switches red is common, it’s a linear feel meaning when you press a key it goes down without any interruption and comes back up the same way. Blue switches aren’t linear as you get a bump going down and a click coming back up making the click experience more noticeable but also noisier. It’s a matter of preference and there are hundreds of different types of switches. To choose think about your environment first, like what people tolerate around you, if you can choose noisy switches or have to go with silent ones. Then think about the games you play and what they request mechanically or what will give you an edge. To define this you can check what the pro players use in your game or just watch reviews. And finally choose something you like visually. The more your prerogatives dive in depth in those topics, the pricier the keyboard / switches will be basically.
