I recently purchased a Flow x16 laptop from Asus, and I was having the same palm rejection issue. Then I found the setting for "disable touch input when using pen" was disabled. Once I enabled that setting my drawing experience has been night and day. If any else is having the problem try to turn that setting on. I use a microsoft surface pen 2.

@@77sincere94 I bought the Best Buy version which has a lower spec. The 3070ti version comes and goes on the Asus site. You can also buy the UK 3070ti version which has better specs, and is cheaper than the us version after VAT. However, you need to make sure you are comfortable with the UK keyboard layout.

my huion drawing tablet came with palm rejection drawing gloves so i use that when i have to draw on the z13, also when using CSP i have adjusted pen pressure settings, and setting your brush settings to scale according with ur screen zoom helps you get accurate lines since u can just zoom in to get finer lines as you need, but yeah it is a relatively flawed package just good for a very niche use case such as mine, where i do need gaming specs for portable streaming, gaming, vtubing AND art workstation, where regular tablet computers just won't have the performance for that

Nice in dept review. Im waiting for my 2023 z13, i hope the issues are resolved with that model. From a former galaxy tab s8 user, what i really liked about it was the keyboard without the trackpad for portability. Ive been searching for ages for a keyboard design just like that of the tab s8 but to no avail. Maybe perhaps you can recommend if there is such keyboard for the z13 that does not connect via bluetooth.

@@silverpro8356 battery life is horrible, but im not really concerned, i limit the charge to 80% and plug the charger all the time while using it. Don't bother using a stylus, even while using palm rejection gloves, this is not the forte of the z13. sound quality is acceptable. If you're not gaming, better get the huawei matepad E or even the surface. If you're OC like me, even if im not gaming, you can get the z13. I still think the best design goes to the samsung tab s8, no trackpad, very portable, a windows version of it if available would be perfect.

That’s unfortunate. Seems like a great device, nearly perfect for everything else I’d want to use, but the poor art performance means I’ll need to decide whether I want a subpar gaming setup on the surface pro 8 or a subpar drawing experience on the z13

To improve battery life have you tried activating NVIDIA Optimus, this ensures that the dedicated GPU is only used for specific intensive processes and the iGPU is used for all normal applications whilst running on battery. When plugged in the dedicated GPU is primarily used.

good review, I'm a rog flow z13 user I agree with your review, do you think if I buy a slim 2 pen it will make it better for drawing? So far I'm using the z13 to create 3d models in the zbrush software and it's pretty good, I use gloves to minimize bad palm rejection

MS Slim Pen 2 has very similar performance to ASUS Pen except with better tilt sensitivity. If you don't use tilt brushes, there's no compelling reason to buy Slim Pen 2.

Hi Teoh, recently there have been major issues with my keyboard as it doesn't work properly depending on the angle. I have tried using a soft cotton stick to remove the debris from the area where it was connected and that did the work for 2 weeks. I want to replace the keyboard but unfortunately the warranty has ran out and I can't type with the keyboard. I would love to get your help as I have seen many people with the same problem.

The main selling point is portability. And you can remove the keyboard to move the screen closer. Personally I would probably connect it to a larger display for gaming. Main downside is obviously battery life so this is not a device for use away from a power source for long period of time. Thanks for letting me know this. I will see if I can borrow one to review. Quite curious of the gaming performance. 😁

If you already have a computer, then Microsoft Surface may not be the better choice as it's another computer unless you're thinking of upgrading. The drawing/writing performance is probably determined by the display. So even if you use different pens that can work, the performance should still be the same.

I did not. Anyway, I don't think the Intel Iris Xe is going powerful enough to run Stray smoothly. Even with RTX 3050 I could only get 30-40 FPS at 1080P resolution. And 30FPS is still quite alright for Stray as it's not an action game.

It should be powerful enough for 3D, but you will definitely need to connect it to external display as most 3D apps have too many tools and palettes
