Thanks for the review of the strix LC. Curious if the orientation of the AIO would cause any change in the temps since it was at the bottom of the case with the card above it vertical. Looking forward to seeing a Surprim performance and how it stacks up.

I'm seeing that all the noise is coming exclusively from the radiator FANs. Did you tried exchanging those FANs for a couple of Noctuas?

Ok, since there is NOTHING on the entire internet regarding using this card with a set of Noctuas NF A12x25 PWM. I went and purchased this card and 4 Noctuas. Closed case, replaced the crappy ASUS fans with a set of Noctuas on front (controlled by GPU) and then added a pull set of Noctuas on the back (case is an O11 Dynamic XL). Result: idle temp: 28C, full load temp 49C. Noise output at 1300RPM with 4x Noctuas is about 30dbm. My previous videocard (Gigabyte RTX3080 was about 38dbm at 73C). Result, super silent PC with an unbeatable temp performance and almost dead silent. So, let me hear those arguments about the watercooler on this card being incapable. CLASE CLOSED.

Well in its stock form it’s still likely ok but spend that much on vid card then have to go 4 more expensive Noctua fans to improve it shouldn’t be. Asus should have did a better job.

Im running the same card, and using 2 corsair ML120 push, and the 2 stock as pull in an O11XL (Side mounted). My temps for core never pass 55 c under full load in a game like warzone 2 for example, however the other 2 temps (memory and hotspot, tend to be +10 to 17 degrees more than the core) Wondering if this is normal? Read somewhere that anything over 10-12 degrees diff from core to hotspot/memory could mean bad connections with pads. How are your temps?
@alexvojacek

@@stefanmv What you read is wrong. This is perfectly normal. Memory on these cards goes extremely hot, always hotter than the actual GPU temp. I'm running the card with Corsair XG waterblock along with a massive radiator and 3 Phanteks T-30 and my GPU temp is around 50 and the memory temps are around 65-70 degrees so, around 10-15 degrees hotter. Same for the hotspot. Your temps are perfect as they are.

Yeh supply on these 3090Ti has been great. I picked up a Supreme X, Gigabyte gamming OC and EVGA Ultra. They all performed well, really well. I was hard pressed on which card I would keep and return the other 2. Settled on keeping the EVGA ultra. It just just held the higher clock a little more consistently than the other 2. But honestly there was barely anything in it. I like how EVGA have moved the power connector to the side. If you have the length in your case it just looks neater to have the power cable for the card in that position. It seems like EVGA made sure they got the 3090 Ti right this time after heavy criticism of their 3090 when it first came out. To be fair after a few revisions to their PCB on the 3090 it is now a very good card compared to the other 3090's. But I feel EVGA made sure with the 3090 Ti there would be no criticism and it would be one of the best performers out there especially if you decide to leave the card on air. The 3090 Ti Tuf is also a good card from what I've seen, but I never got to test 1 of those. I understand people will be like why get a 3090Ti when the 4000 series is around the corner bla bla. Well firstly because I knew with the 3090 Ti they would have worked all the problems out and the cards would perform better and more importantly cooler. Which is the case. All the brands have great performing 3090Ti right now. Secondly I would rather wait to see if there are any major problems with the 4000 series and give them 12 months to work them out before I would consider picking up 1 of those cards. I prefer to get the end of life top of the range card and deal with no issues than pick up the latest and greatest top of the range and deal with bugs, problems etc etc. Another problem on the horizon is when crypto gets out of it's current slump and prices start going up going on from past experience I don't think Ethereum is going to have its proof of stake model ready for the upgrade to the network and I can see mining ETH going for the next 2 years or more. This will start putting pressure on graphics card supply again and we could see a repeat of what we saw when the 3000 series launched. Unless you are involved in crypto you cannot understand why this will happen again. Just fair warning to those who have no idea about crypto and think the supply and price issue with graphics cards is behind us, because it is not.

@@Advocate_INFJ Strix LC is great. I've seen the card PCB and it's top of the line. Plus the design they made, separating the mosfets from the actual GPU/RAM waterblock is brilliant. Gigabyte just put a big dumb waterblock on top of everything, which will make the RAMs ultra hot because the Mosfets are also heating up and sending the heat into the RAMs. Being the waterblock in the center, everything suffers. @happyness5293
@happyness5293 2 жыл бұрын
@@JCustom You don't need to remove the wire from the sleeve, there are RGB and 4 pin fan wire connectors before the wire goes into the sleeve, simple to change fans just plug the rgb and fan plugs on the Corsair fans rt into the existing Asus plugs, if there were any issues using the existing connectors, you could run the rgb to your board use the corsair app, and run the fans off your board using the bios, which goes off the cpu. There are options, but I don't think changing fans will do much, because 2600 rpm fans push the air and make noise when maxed out, less rpm fans probably wont push as much air. Asus should have given an option 240mm or 360mm. On the other hand, my UPS Fan makes more noise than the Asus 3090ti fans, but only when there is a load on the card. The 3090TI strix gets me sub 30C when not being strained, and quiet, similar to my custom loop 3090. Switching to the strix 3090 TI was a great option for me, as I am putting my not so old 3090 into my sons, pc. The 3090TI is definitely faster than my 3090, and for some strange reason, it appears the graphics look better, noticeably better, to me anyway. I got as high as 138FPS w graphics maxed out, unlimited FPS in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, on a 3840X1600 LG Monitor which I have set at 120hz to get the 10bpc color depth, something my OC 3090 would never do, my 3090 works great, but the TI is definitely better. I think 4000 series is close enough for there not to be. The lc cooler design on the 90ti has not been white before. It’s actually a very challenging process for asus to pump out white components that don’t easily discolor and look somewhat uniform . I could see them make the effort on the next air cooler but this reused lc design I doubt it. 850w is cutting it close. Most 90s are in the 320-340 watt (tuf, reference based, fe etc) these ti are pulling 450-500 not considering a spike. It’s a bit too close.

All I know is nobody is really hitting top scores when overclocking. All of those asus you see on the top 100 list are mostly evga units using the strix 890 watt bios! If yoy read thw descriptions they tell you the cards because 3d mark goes by the bios name. It's pretty incredible how many evga cards are in thw top 100 right now. Even one guy with a black got 2295 somehow! It's crZy af. Sry man that's just how it is I expected more from strix tbh. It's good out of rhe box actually its great out of rhe box. Its just it doesn't get pushes as well ans OC on the memory is actually one of the worse 3090ti's. Expected so much more from asus. All they ahd to do was stick with there 3090 trend.
