Just got this recently. Random question, but what software are you using in the top left corner to monitor your temperatures while you were playing Forza? Also, could you recommend a good guide for under volting your CPU?
@XxViciousxX10 ай бұрын
That's MSI Afterburner with Riva statistics server. unfortunately, I'm not educated on undervolting these laptops. AMD made it a little annoying to do. On Intel and Nvidia laptops you can just undevolt the GPU through Afterburner and the Intel CPU through Intel extreme tuning utility. But I couldn't get Ryzn Master to work and Afterburner is only good for that data screen I have in the top left. But I know some people in my discord are much better at undervolting than I am. I went the max everything out give me the full power route. This does give me good performance but the temps are pretty dang high. But I have a link to my Discord in my description

I let the laptop fans spin at 100% in manual mode. But also had this thing going at 100%. Figure my fans are rated for 7000RPM so there is no way this 5000RPM cooling pad should be able to over-spin them. Plus I got a little better temps doing that.

Laptops have cooling issues. It's best to leave achieving absolute max performance to desktops since hardware wear won't be as much of an issue. I am waiting for my Lenovo Legion 5 Pro to arrive, but I have many doubts about which laptop base to buy; the IETS GT500 runs at 5000 RPM and has 51.25 CFM, however I'm assuming its great efficiency is based on driving the flow in only one direction, but from what I've been reading the RPM indicates how fast it needs to rotate to reach the Indicated CFM, the latter would be the actual movement of air that the product has, but if we take another coolant base, for example Thermaltake Massive V20 (RPM: 800 R.P.M - 129,639 CFM) and seal the air outlets using the same sponge that the IETS brings, wouldn't it work better or is my logic wrong? USB-C that way the monitor is connected to the 6800m directly.

Thank you very much. Glad I helped you make some purchasing decisions. This cooler is great a little on the loud side but the laptop at 100% fan is also not exactly quiet so I don't mind.

Great video. You got another subscriber here. Just picked this one up myself, and I was amazing at how much it lower my temps. I saw 15 - 20 degree lower temps using the cooler at half power. How's yours holding up? still going strong?
@XxViciousxX2 жыл бұрын
Thank you and thank you for the sub I greatly appreciate it. It's still doing great. I have the old 4200rpm version (Think I have had it for about 3 months as well for travel) and it too is still working flawlessly. These cooling pads are great!
@coininban2 жыл бұрын
Yep, same here...easily dropping my GPU and CPU temps a good 15-20 degree Celsius. It was well worth the purchase, especially when comparing it to other cooling pads on the market. I've had mine for 7 months and it's still going going strong.

Can you connect the cooler to the laptop for power supply
@XxViciousxX2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately no the fan is too powerful for a USB port. It has to be plugged into a wall or a power brick that has a wall socket on it if such a thing even exists.

@@XxViciousxX aww is it still holding up now? How's the dust protector (I wanna get it purely cause of this) also does putting it to the max damage the laptops fans?
@XxViciousxX2 жыл бұрын
@@aceofspades5638 The dust protector does block a lot of dust but a little dust still gets in just like with PC case's with filters. But it is far less dust than using no filter at all. But both of my cooling pads are both still working great no issues at all. So far I haven't had any fan rattling or anything like that so I think it's fine.

@@XxViciousxX I see, thanks for replying bro. I also got this type of model. I wanna thank you also for that bios video you got, no wonder my rog AE goes hot like crazy when i updated my bios 315 (stock) to 318, should I go back to 315 instea of 316? Thanks again man. PS: Subscribed too!
@XxViciousxX2 жыл бұрын
@@kurtbaculina5770 I stay on 316 as 318 takes 1000 RPM away from both GPU and CPU. I also wondered why my temps got higher with the newest BIOS. So I did some testing and found that to be the cause. So I went back to 316 for now. Also thank you for the Sub I appreciate it greatly!

@@XxViciousxX most of them seemed to not have substantial results with the hot 12th generation chips, but I'm confident this one will be exactly what I'm looking for to cool the 12900H in my Asus ROG Strix Scar 17, as well as reduce any hotspot throttling on my 3070ti.

@@XxViciousxX yeah, seeing 9°C+ is substantial cooling. My laptop isn't slow by any means, but once I undervolt my gpu that should open up even more power potential to be allocated since it won't encounter any thermal throttling under load.
@XxViciousxX2 жыл бұрын
@@Emolokz Oh yeah that's a powerful laptop. The CPU in yours is faster than what's in mine. My GPU is a little faster (as long as no Raytracing is involved) and as long as I use an external monitor. Thank you homie. I have made a great purchase in a wim. Apparently I buy things on Amazon the same way I invest, with my gut. Seems to work out most the time. Haha. My MSI laptop be getting so hot I could cook my morning breakfast on it after staying up all night playing video games with hookers and blow. Can’t wait to cook my eggs on a pan instead of my laptop. Maybe I’ll game better getting a cooling pad.

This thing is awesome so your gut was right on the money. I think there might be one new laptop cooling pad that's slightly better but it cost $107 and $80 is already kinda silly but figured screw it id rather have a cooler running laptop and if I got to pay $80 so be it.

@@XxViciousxX I have been using for a week or so now and let me tell you this thing is made like cheap chunk but I would pay $200 for how well this works and cools my laptop when gaming. I am mind blown and I will forever have one of these. Appreciate the review homie. I am running anywhere from 15-25 degrees cooler, that is insane. It's also quieter on full blast than the fans in my MSI laptop and now I am running them under 50% so for me this is actually less noise and to some that is probably crazy ha-ha. These MSI Laptops run hot when you get good ones but my gosh, I love them.
