The thing i like the most about the 7945hx is that amd finally put a sort of dektop cpu into the laptop. Don´t mean in terms of power consumption etc but in terms of cache. The previous ones are all gimped and one can easily see what cache can make for a difference when looking at their x3d desktop cpu´s. 7945hx: 1 / 16 / 64 (in mb l1/l2/l3) 6900hx: 0,5/ 4 / 16 (in mb l1/l2/l3) which is the same as my ryzen 7 5800h (so up until now paying for a mobile ryzen 9 was waste of money).

I have 4090 Strix Scar 18 and I'm not blown away... I use it with Varjo Aero and I have to run medium/low settings to be able to play Assetto Corsa or iRacing ... on higher settings it skips frames and crashes Varjo

You just add the second SSD with thermal pad, the second SSD slot is no different than the first SSD slot with airflow, no concern at all.

If i replace the liquid metal with normal thermal paste will the temperatures be lower? Because the new Ryzen 9 with 3D is using thermal past and it runs like 20 Celsius cooler while being more powerful.

LM are still superior to any other pastes, it's just that factory LM paste by Asus are by machines, it could be messy and not to the optimal performance, hand-paste with LM are much better.

G17 is G713 and comes with RTX 4060/4070. Strix Scar 17 (G733 in this video) comes with RTX 4080/4090 and chassis has better built.

990 Pro 2TB thickness is just like most other SSDs so it will fit. Even the double-sided SSDs suck as Sabrent will also fit. The screen brightness is 300 nits.

Our unit was out of the box settings with no modifications. However, the paste job on Asus factory was done by machine and not every units are equal, some paste job could be messy.

@@GenTechPC you cant risk repasting liquid metal. And not worth repasting so soon as its brand new… the bad cpu temps show the ineffective Asus cooling solution. Its sad for such a brand new laptop. Im 100% sure that repasting wont help in any way. Probably make it worse !!!!

Just play some games and find out. Intel 13th Gen i9-13980HX can go up to 100~105C.
