I purchased this monitor last May and in June following the well-known flickering problem I sent it back and the shop sent me a new one. The problem of color flickering is avoided by putting programs in window (full screen) and not normal full screen because using ALT-Tab creates the problem. Some users have also encountered a brightness flickering problem, this is due to the fact that the monitor IS NOT yet G-sync compatible as advertised by Asus. The monitor is listed on the Nvidia website as compatible BUT the drivers will make it so in the FUTURE! However, I consider the monitor to be an EXCELLENT PURCHASE and I am fully satisfied with it!

you are the first one to talk about brightness limitation and the cooling. thx for that. what can u say about image retention in your test period?
@GLITCHEDZA
@GLITCHEDZA 9 ай бұрын
I don't think image retention is a major issue. You still need to be aware of what you have on the screen and for how long but the monitor does include a number of safety nets to help prevent any damage. I would also recommend using the monitor at 30% brightness when you're not gaming. So desktop and web browsing, lower the brightness. Even down to 15%. It will just give this display a bit more life in the long run.

The 4k model isnt really the elephant in the room, only super high end pcs are gonna take advantage of 240hz at 4k. Most people play in 1080p, a lot at 1440p, and very few at 4k, based on steam numbers. So I think its relevency is very high and its the standout monitor for any mid to high end pc gamer

I am really considering this monitor - along side the LG C1 - Did you update the firmware? Because it seems to have enhanced the HDR? I really wish there was places we can test these products before buying here. The price is crazy here, will buy it in Europe - 4K240 will just be way too expensive here and for a very limited few people.

I know ASUS was working with Incredible Connection to have this on display at certain stores here in SA. I would also look at an LG C1 tbh. Unless you’re highly competitive, that TV is much cheaper and bigger. There’s also an Aorus FO48U which has more gaming features and is also cheaper.

Hello, thanks for the video, I have gigabyte m27q and I would like to change it for the Asus pg27aqdm, my only fear is the brightness in games without HDR, do you know if the brightness is similar to the m27q without HDR? And is it better to activate or deactivate HDR in Windows 11? thank you!
@GLITCHEDZA
@GLITCHEDZA 8 ай бұрын
If you're looking for a monitor with brighter SDR I would stick with the M27Q tbh. It does SDR very well. But again, HDR is better and does more than just increase the brightness of the display. It saturates content and maps colours. So you're definitely not seeing games as they should be with SDR. I would say the ASUS brightness is worse in SDR than the M27Q but not to the point where you shouldn't upgrade. The ASUS monitor OLED has a variety of benefits over the M27Q which go beyond just a bit of brightness. Also, I keep HDR on all the time in Windows 11 tbh. It helps when working as the display doesn't get too bright and hurt my eyes. It also just makes life easier when launching a game. I know some people hate Windows 11 HDR but if you're playing a game in SDR in 2023 on a new monitor you're really missing out.

35k is tough, though. Would rather consider an Oled tv for 10k less

I've had this monitor for a week but I feel input lag, it's something subtle but it's there because I play competitive fps, I have firmware 104. I have seen in some forums that there is a bug with gsync that when it is on it has 2.5 and when it is off it has 8ms of input lag, but if you turned it off and then you turned it on the 8ms are transferred, I have an odyssey g7 and it feels with less input lag than this monitor, so what setting do you recommend me to have the least input lag possible?
@GLITCHEDZA
@GLITCHEDZA 8 ай бұрын
Definitely seems like a bug. I don’t think a setting with help improve that tbh. ASUS needs to address it. I will send your comment to our global contact and hopefully it will help escalate the issue

Hmmm a tough one. If you don't mind waiting I would hold off on buying an OLED monitor for a bit. I see Samsung is also releasing Odyssey OLED monitors and MSI is also busy with some too. I think in the next few months prices will drop as the competition gets tougher for these brands.

I just got the PG27AQDM to use with my PS5 and I’m thoroughly impressed with it. Have to tinker with the color/brightness settings some more but I like it so far. Definitely feels faster than my former 165hz IPS panel the Dell S2721DGF which I had no real issues with.

This is the first actual proper monitor to even come to za, we never get anything good down here. With that being said, 35k is quite a bit more than the price in the US.

You'll need to calibrate a few settings but it is usable right out of the box. Be sure to upgrade the firmware to the latest version. You'll need to connect it to your PC with the USB cable and download the firmware off of ASUS Armoury Crate.

Im thinking of buying this monitor. What’s the chance of burn in if playing the same game for many hours?

@@GLITCHEDZA thanks for reply. What is this thing called shift pixel maintenance?
@GLITCHEDZA
@GLITCHEDZA 6 ай бұрын
There's a range of settings on the unit. I think the one you'll want to use is Pixel Cleaning. Make sure to also enable other settings on the unit like logo safety. I am not 100% sure what it is called but there's a full section on the unit just for OLED safety. Keep in mind that the monitor also performs various tasks in the background to help with burn-in. The settings are just extra. @@quantino1611

@@GLITCHEDZA what should i know about this monitor? As I’ve never had oled and it’s gonna be my first one. Is it worth getting this one? Or LG 27GR95QE is a better choice? For purely gaming.
@GLITCHEDZA
@GLITCHEDZA 6 ай бұрын
@@quantino1611 This is a great gaming monitor. But in my opinion, some of the specs are a bit overkill. I would never use the Hz this monitor has. I would look at a 120Hz or 144Hz OLED instead. Unless you're into hardcore competitive games, you don't need a super high refresh rate. Essentially, you can look at an LG 43-inch TV even. Those come with 4K 120Hz. This ASUS is great, but the high-end specs cater for esports and competitive gamers. I would prefer a larger display tbh.
