What reviewers don't mention is how shitty the WiFi card is on this laptop. If you have a mediatek ax card you're screwed. I replaced mine with Intel ax200 and whilst improved things, still causes my games like csgo to rubber band due to lag very badly. It's not an excuse because if I tether my phone to the laptop via USB it is absolutely fine. There are hardware issues with the WiFi on this thing and people need to be aware of that.

Had this for about 2 months now, no issues so far with my mediatek card. No lag when playing Valorant and Overwatch. Good download speeds as well, can download 60-70gb games in 15 minutes or less.

I skipped this and gone for strix g17 with r9 5900hx and rtx 3060. As 15.6 seems smaller for me. Although temps and battery and display ( 100 srgb, 300hz , 300 nits) are extremely good. Performance is not as per my demand as a hardcore gamers perspective. Getting 190 -200 fps on valorant. It came with slower RAM and will upgrade this next month to 32 gb ( 16*2) faster RAM.

I got the G 17 adnatage edition and run's awesome Last game played is metro exodus enhanced edition with 1080 max settings and high setting for Ray tracing and got average 90 plus frames not bad,no termo issues at all

Got this laptop for about a week the first few days the laptop performance was super BUT after a few days the wifi card stop connect you and have disable and enable everytime the laptop wakes up from sleep. Another major issue is the Asus software on this laptop conflicts with AMD software. The laptop constantly uninstall drivers that are working perfectly for some games. Every game I try on this thing crashes after a few minutes of playing. I have install and uninstall multiple drivers still nothing so I'm Returning this for a Lenovo or Dell.

The only issue with mine was the thermal paste, mine is the revision M8 and came with the proper application, I swapped the liquid metal one with GC Gelid Xtreme and dried in 7 months throttling a lot, this time used the Corsair XTM50, also swapped the RAM with better ones and flashed the BIOS back from 318 to 316 as that last version caps the RPM up to 1000RPM less than it is by default, making it to throttle more.

I have this laptop and I want to know if I got the first batch with the thermal problems or not. I run bfv and cod wz with a 94 to 96 CPU temperature and 75 to 83 gpu temperature in turbo mode, I get from 8 to 9 degrees less in performance mode

Just got mine and laptop on a cooler or propped up it maxes 90c in stress test left in turbo, but if you choose to manually set your own fans curves can drop it to 85c stress test and sub 80 gaming.

Nah just need to go to device manager and change some things. The power mode goes to aggressive. Which is annoying. It needs to be disabled. I play alot kf games and it never goes past 82c on gpu and never past 78c on cpu.

If you're not rendering you don't have to worry about those temps. Or like most creatives who are mobile with their work, but when at home use a Cooling Pad which is good to have in general if you don't use a dock and external monitor. But even if you did use an external monitor you could still have your laptop sitting on a cooling pad. Simple fix.

Repaste at your own risk, it's definitely tough but if you figure out how to do it safely it's possible. I'd consult with a professional first before trying it yourself. I don't have personal experience repasting this model but there should be youtube tutorials on how to do it.

IMHO it is so difficult. Because liquid metal has a silicone block. that makes Liquid metal can't flow another ways. so if you remove or add something then you should remove silicone block and when work is done you should remake block for liquid metal but because of this you don't have to worry about excess. the silicone block will prevent that situation.

Also try the klim tempest laptop cooler, it fits perfectly on the side ports and it deff helps keeping the temps down. Also, if you go into the asus armoury, you can set the fan on high from the gecko, as temps rises, the fan also starts to speed up, but if you got the fans on full blast from the geck, it helps keeping the temps down.

I have the same model but with qhd 165hz panel and i feel like it runs kinda bot in normal tasks i get 60-70 while surfing the web with no other apps in the background. Do you think this js normal or should i return it? This never happend to me before on a gaming laptop i had a legion before this one and it never went above 55 degrees during normal tasks.

Worked for me. Never goes past 82c on cpu. And thats with a full load. Gpu hardly goes over 84. Rare if it does.
