hi, i have a Asus K550JX and it only has a HD resolution screen... I want to change it for a Full HD or even 4K screen from other Asus laptops from the same series - my question is if you can tell me if this is possible and maybe give me a link where I can buy a new FULL HD or 4K screen for my laptop? Did you ever find out? I need to replace mine that's touch screen with a whole new top half.... the outer shell and glass screen both cracked

I did it with the Asus X550VX, so I guess you just got to make sure the connector corresponds. I had to uninstall-reinstall all the display and graphics drivers in order to correctly display at the new resolution in windows. Ubuntu no problem.

Hi there, thanks for this guide! I would like to ask one question though. I am about to replace the screen tape becuase the signal is breaking every time I move the lid (up or down). I know how to remove the screen thanks to this guide however there are 3 ends of a new tape. The first one goes to camera (probably, the small one at the top of the lid), the second one goes to the screen itself and there is a last one that is hidden in the hinge (left one). How can I access this one? Thanks for the reply in advance.
