I have been loving this in depth series. I think it is great that The Tek has such a large manufacturer of successful and diverse products willing to commit a good portion of time to explanation of the platform. JJ is a really informed guy and I have learnt a lot about Haswell from these videos. You should be paying attention. I also know what I should expect from competing products and that enables me to inform others as well. I like knowledge, knowledge is good.

I enjoy the in depth looks at these boards. I hope it convinces other manufacturers to do the same with their products.

All of the videos you are seeing them put out were all filmed on the same day. Logan said on this weeks Tek that he wasn't at the office that stuff was piling up back there, he obviously hasn't been at the office to work new videos for a bit since the last 2 Teks have not been there. Chances are, he's been out of town and these are the only videos that they even have right now.

I never really gave much thought to workstation boards before, but if I were building a pc right now I would very seriously consider the z87 board shown here it sounds ballin.

JJ is a great guy thanks for having him on to provide all of this fantastic info. It would be sweet to have JJ on again to showcase ASUS's GTX 700 series. Q - What part of Kentucky? I'm originally from Lexington. Kentucky will always be close to my heart with its smart and strong family valued people. Keep up the good work, love your channel!

Let's not forget a few things here guys. 1) They shot all these videos in one day, so it's not like they have suddenly shifting all their focus to ASUS. 2) This is tek syndicate's first platform launch and they rely on other companies, such as ASUS to help them out in terms of hardware. ASUS happen to have sent JJ down to demonstrate and promote their new boards, but these videos are very helpful to understand z87 features across all brands. 3) They are still making the Tek every week...

Still rockin my P67 WS Extreme. Great performance from ASUS WS boards. If you use VM's and/or run multiple applications on a single system, and use multiple storage configs, these boards are for you. Performance is second to none for the price. About $1000 less than an Intel extreme system of similar configuration.

What i like about asus boards is they are like a tank. I have some old pcs still (even a 486) and my 2 with asus board (a p4 from 2005 and a pendium d from 2006) still work with the original asus board and they were overclocked since day one. But now days there are many brands as good as asus, so its impossible indeed to define asus as the best. ;)

1. That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. 2. No one is forcing you to watch. 3. Sites like Tek Syndicate rely on manufacturers to support them by giving/loaning products that they can review. Asus have obviously given that support. I'm sure if Gigabyte or MSI were to contact Tek Syndicate they would be given the same exposure.

Thanks for spamming the channel with 1,000 comments. I like to allow all opinions. You have stated yours enough. We do ban, it's rare, but we do. I agree that there are a lot of ASUS videos. They were supporting during a platform launch. Nobody is forcing you to watch these videos.

Me and my best bud were buying ASUS motherboards for more than 10 years now. Between us we got around 8 and the only 2 still working are a couple of M2N-SLI Deluxe. Those are amazing. We're currently trying out diffrent brands. So I'm not sure about the 'best' judging from my experience. Today I'd love to have a functioning old system and the only thing that I don't have is a Soket 7 motherboard.

you know there is allot to cover on this new platform launch Haswell. And allot of company's are producing allot of new motherboards. And its amazing that these guys are actually taking the time by going over every motherboard thoroughly compared to every one else. I mean have you ever seen an entire series of dedicated to giving you as much info at this scale like this. I think not.

Server stuff only right now. You can do dual exeons for 16 core performance or dual opterons for 32 cores. I've even seen an mATX board with quad opterons for 64 core support and 256gb of ram support. If you have the money for that go break some records.

He probably said something like "I've had enough of all these ASUS videos, you're such a fanboy etc...." And a bottleneck is when 1 (or more) parts seriously holds back the overall performance of a system. Imagine having a 4 lane wide motorway, but then for a few miles its reduced to one lane, it would slow down traffic regardless of how many lanes and how empty the rest of the road is

never used the workstation versions? you missed out! i've used the past WS versions and have been quite happy with them. now i got myself the ASUS Z87-WS with an 4770k and it works great. well i find the connectors a a little of an overkill but the two intel nics and the ssd-caching features are the perfect argument for this board.

I bet he will, z87 hasn't been out for very long. I like seeing a vendor send in someone knowledgeable on the product. I doubt anyone would turn down good money for a week or 2 of product coverage. Especially if it applies to their target audience. Z87 fever is on and everyone's curious, and Asus is the most popular motherboard manufacturer. TTL did a review and trashed the MVIE. His every gripe was valid. It'd be poor financial planning on Logan's part to let this opportunity go.

We've just had a new platform launch. Ergo, a multitude of new products. We've seen lots from Asus because they have been actively working with TS to get the message out there. As a result there has been a short term flood of videos on the topic. I'm sure they HAVE been busy; there is a lot that goes into cultivating a good website/community and KZbin channel. Give the guys a chance and just skip the videos you're not interested in. They ARE aware that there have been lots of videos from Asus.

Could someone please confirm JJ's suggestion in this youtube demo, in the middle of his video at about 7 mintues 50 secs he states that the Z87-WS supports ECC memory. The official Asus website does not confirm this in the specifications. I have been in touch with Crucial who also say that ECC is not supported on this motherboard. Could someone please confirm that it does support ECC memory, as I would like to use it with the Xeon E3-1275v3 processor.

The video claims that both the ASUS P9D WS and the ASUS Z87 WS support ECC memory. This is incorrect. According to ASUS specs, only the ASUS P9D WS supports ECC and non-ECC memory. The ASUS Z87 WS only supports non-ECC memory.

it's not cheap, they have multiple thousands of dollars in motherboards there. Logan's not "getting stuff for free" this show is his job. Yes, it's advertising. That's what companies do. Lastly, Logan hasn't said "Don't buy from any other vendor except Asus because Asus is the best and the other guys suck" JJ was only there for a while so they had to shoot all of the videos at once. Not everything's a conspiracy.

That's like saying a piece of shit might look ugly, but if you take another piece they would look good together. I'm over exaggerating, but both Noctua fans and this mobo look hideous. Not saying they lack performance or that you can't make them look good, there's just no excuse to make things this color.
