They use a PCI-Express switch-chip, a so called PLX-chip. It connects with the CPU through PCI-Express x16 and provides 32 lanes on the other side for the graphics cards.

***** The Z97-A and Deluxe have already been revealed, Insterad of gold they make use of black heatsinks with a light campagne coloured plates on top which look like they should be easily removable. I definitely like the design much better than this. luk9400 True, this design allows better heat dissipation but why didn't they use the new more subtle colour and the round PCH heatsink?

Nicktrance1 Actually I don't like these round heatsinks. In my opinion they are awful so the square one is a plus for me :) I think that this is the new colour but they didn't add black as a secondary colour. For sure it looks better than Z87 WS.

LOL. Minimum required components that make up a computer. Motherboard-yes, every PC has one CPU RAM Either a Solid State Drive (SSD) or a Hardrive (HDD) or both. Power supply CPU cooler. Optional components: Graphics card-This is what makes video games run better, a graphics card is optional, you dont need it, but is necessary for gaming. You need to connect it to a motherboard. Case-Technically you don't need a case, but is highly recommended. sound card disc drive additional hardrives. N-key rollover and lower latency. Really helps for games. My USB KB has NKRO, but not all computers will boot properly in that mode. If you've ever been running around in first person shooters, and you find yourself stuck moving in a direction until you release some keys, that's where a PS2 keyboard comes in handy. As for running a PS/2 mouse, I'm not sure there are any benefits.

Jarrod Hurdle Some of them can run on PS/2, they just require an adapter (for example, Steelseries 6G V/2 has an adapter included, and the CM Storm QuickFire Rapid can be used on PS/2). Ones with LED backlighting usually can't be used with PS/2. Most people don't need NKRO so it would increase manufacturing costs for no reason.
