I believe you are a professional to risk opening an expensive hardware to help viewers like me who are curious to know what is under the hood. With my curiosity satisfied, I thank you for this amazing video. I have one clarification. I usually clean my on my desktop PC once in 3 to 6 months to remove dust for it's longevity but with this laptop, do you know if we can just clean the fans with an air blower by removing the bottom case for the same purpose ideally once a year. Thanks in advance.
@connorkillmice2 жыл бұрын
just had to clean this laptops fans as one got stuck by some debris... all it took was some air. have had it for a year
@ahsanfarooqi56634 жыл бұрын
wow! what an artistic hand smoothly done the job, could you also share the video in which you show how to do undervolt in duo pro, and how to properly apply thermal paste, since your video is very clear with description, actually if we cut the holes in backcover right below the fan of duo pro do you think it will help better airflow? thanks for the video
@MakaiTechReviews4 жыл бұрын
I tried this method on older FX gaming notebooks and the thermal measures were not as impressive, so overall it will not help as much as you have to face with the modding trouble. Anyhow do you have thermal issue with this laptop?
@yashwantgarud89674 жыл бұрын
@@MakaiTechReviews This laptop has thermal issues. I have undervolted as much as possible but I still see 80C cpu temps during gaming. Need a guide to reapply the thermal paste.

Clean Video. It would be nice if some parts are more in detail or even named. Also it is not so clear if/where/why thermalpaste/-pads were used. Also the thing with "Parts in description...." Is very misleading (Actual usefull parts would be nice e.g. better wifi), there is no space for 2.5" ssd or ram are soldered on

Thank you ! Do you think it's the same system for remove fans on UX582 ?
@MakaiTechReviews2 жыл бұрын
The layout is very similar, but it is also way more crowded and the fans sit tightly next to the pipes. I did not have the chance to check it myself, but "newer" models tend to have all-or-nothing mode (have to remove the pipes with the fans together).
@AZ-rx6lt2 жыл бұрын
Nice explanation. How difficult would it be to replace the USB port next to the HDMI? Mine has a one pin broken. Do you know the correct type for a spare (farnell, avnet, digikey, mouser...)? Could it be UB3A-9R-D6C-333?

I know it's an old video, but my touchpad is not working properly anymore, the 'click' function is gone, as if someone stuck a chewing gum underneath. As I don't use a mouse it's very annoying. I can't even use the left button anymore to click and drag anything. Can I remove that after doing everything you did in this video?
@MakaiTechReviews10 ай бұрын
Yes you can remove it. At the end of the video you can see there is a big metal plate hold by screws. After you remove that, you get access to the touchpad.

Thanks for the video. The only thing I want to do with mine is repaste it with liquid metal for the GPU and CPU, I feel that I may get better heat transfer as I don't trust the manufacturer paste job. Do you recommend? Best.
@MakaiTechReviews4 жыл бұрын
It will boost your cooling performance a lot. Also if you check the VRM cooling in this model had a pretty bad job in terms of thermal paste application. I also recommend repasting them (but with standard paste obviously)
@charleskrinel75524 жыл бұрын
@@MakaiTechReviews standard repaste, but not with thermal grizzly liquid metal?
@VikaBooo4 жыл бұрын
makaitechreviews why the standard one ?
@MakaiTechReviews4 жыл бұрын
Liquid metal is conductive. If you mess up you will kill your motherboard. Use liquid metal only on the CPU and GPU silicone if you will but not on VRM or other components.

The only bad thing is the small and slow RAM. I was expecting 3200 MHz and at least 64 GB RAM. Also if the M.2 would be pointing in the opposite direction then the 80 could be replaced by a 110 size (4 TB) Note that it does not allow RAID with two SSD Flash card slots. - but the old RAM... why ASUS, why?

I have owened hp, mac, dell and this asus ux581. I can say for sure that dellxp was like a butter in performance and despite the high price point and high specs of ux581, It seems like a bit less smooth. But replacament and repairibility bas best and mac was worst.
