I don't get it when people complain about a fingerprint sensor taking long. None of them out there take a significant amount of time, and its negligible to complain about. Sure the nice one's are fast, but who needs to get into their phone that fast? Just wait a few seconds and it will be fine.

I have never used one but your point is valid. anyway you put it fingerprint sensors are faster than PIN or password. I have never seen a fingerprint sensor that I would call slow. they are all fast in their own way.

Zenfone 3 Deluxe has stereo magnet speakers which you forgot to mention! Its camera and video quality are actually better than OnePlus 3T but make sure you update it to the latest firmware and also they have better after-sale warranty and customer service! Also there must be something wrong with the US variant Zenfone 3 Deluxe or the one you've got since other non-US variants don't have the issues you mentioned at all.

the problem with the photos lacking detail is that you bought the version that's one step down from their flagship Zenfone 3 Deluxe. The 5.5 inch model that was tested (and linked to in the description) has a 16mp camera. The true flagship model (Zenfone 3 Deluxe 5.7 in.), has a 23mp camera. So if you want detail in your photos, pay the extra ~$300 and get the 5.7 in. model.

I used to be an Asus user but their UI and bloatware is insane. Also, because it was an older version, the internal memory was low, and because of all the content I couldn't remove, I found myself unable to update most of my apps because they all install internally by default so it got frustrating.

It's nice to see another high quality phone with a 5.7 inch screen, since there seem to be less and less these days and since I feel it's the sweet spot for screen size. And, developer options can deal with the animation-lag. But, that battery life and camera performance are easily deal breakers. There are better options that I'd consider, even from the 5.5 inch variety. Nice review.

There are still phablet phones, but they certainly are getting rarer. It's simply too big for most hands. It's very uncomfortable to use and i always feel like i'm dropping it. There aren't great options for the niche that is big phones, kind of a shame if that's your preference.

I don't think it's a shame, big screen phones are here to stay. The problem with most of the current big phones is bezels - they're just way too big. The Mi Mix is a prime example of a big screen phone that is manageable in size - the same body size as an iPhone 6s plus - with almost a 1 inch bigger screen than the iPhone 6s plus. I hear your point that larger phones can be problematic for some users, but larger screens are something that a lot of people would prefer as long as they are not, as you say, uncomfortable to use. As another example, Moto's previous flagship (X Pure/Style) has a 5.7 inch screen AND front facing speakers and is still smaller in body size than the Note 7 and the same size as the One Plus 3T...LAST gen, it was doable.

Check the specs carefully on that! Asus tends to make a huge variety of phones under the same nameplate with different specifications. I typed "zenfone 3" on amazon and 11 variations came up, all sold by Asus, all at different price points different processors, screen sizes, etc.

There's a threshold where you won't have enough MP though so that's not really true. There is quite an improvement with raising the number of MP up to the point where the sensor pixels are too small to capture lights properly. ASUS has never been good at making photo processing or capture software. I remember I bought the ASUS Transformer Infinity+dock and the camera had a good sensor, good MP and the photos were crap. They also picked insanely slow flash memory for it which crippled the whole tablet. They don't have the best track record. Updates were also very very rare.
