I can always forgive the shortcomings of most phones including this one... Simple design, reliable specs, great screen (notch free... Yes!!!), the OS is a bit outdated but hey... Well known brand... Announced update... I am good with that. The only thing now that bothers me is the micro usb... 2018... The zenfone 3 had the type C back then... The zenfone 5 and 5z both has type C, why the 5Q doesn't have one is... A tad bit confusing... Micro usb is fine and all but... I think type C would've made this phone even better... That's just me though.

Anyway, would like to know about the video recording quality of this phone, especially the front facing camera for vlogging. How's the 1080p filming of the front cameras? Does the waxy beauty mode also affect video as bad as you said it does photos? There is also electronic image stabilization written in the specs, does this work with selfie video recording? Cheers!

It would've been great if they used the Snapdragon 636.. With the AI they have for the Zenfone 5 & 5z and hopefully it has 4k Video Camera and most probably the Gyro EIS 1080 video capture.. Then probably there won't be any much more complaints..

Hey Michael, a little off topic question but... do you think having Face Detection and FP scanner is better? Having more options to unlock the phone or... Just have the Face Detection to unlock the phone? I asked this before for iPhone X owners and they said Face Detection is the only one they'll ever need, and for phones that have both Face Detection and FP scanner are just a waste and will lead to confusion to the user. I don't get the whole confusion thing, as phones have always had multiple ways to unlock
