Important note: when comparing the screen quality, make sure to not create an angle with the camera. The footage shows a big advantage for the OnePlus, whereas this would be much smaller when filmed from the center (instead of left angle). And to be honest, colors on the Asus looked richer to me.

That's simply unable to be true, maybe you don't understand display tech? Photo buffs prefer IPS because they can ONLY cover a certain range but they reproduce it accurately, but all OLEDs reproduce a much larger range of colors to the point it seems supersaturated. Also, black levels and 90hz. The display was no contest.

I am buying the regular op7 over zenfone. Yes zenfone has a better battery life and headphone jack, but I am currently using an Oneplus 2 (use it over 3,5 years now) . And this Oneplus 2 still is fast and after replacing the battery it's still a good battery. Sustainability is more important for me, and I know that after 3 years OP7 is still very fast

My verdict, if you love a great screen then go for Oneplus7 pro, but if you value headphone jack, MicroSD-card slot and longer battery life go for Zenfone 6. Performance wise there will not be much of a difference since both phones use Snapdragon 855. If you are a diehard nitpicky gamer go for ASUS ROG Phone 2 (Snapdragon 855+, 120hz amoled, 6000mh battery, dtx front firing stereo speackers). The most important thing here is how much money you are willing to spend? Zenfone 6 cheapest, Oneplus 7 Pro more expensive and Rog Phone 2 even more expensive. But none of theese is still as expensive as iPhone XS.

Thank you for the great comparison! It's a bit of a head scratcher that you were getting about the same battery life on the two phones since the Zen has a 5000ma battery and the OnePlus has a bigger display at 90hz with just a 400ma battery.

Even being a lcd, the display on asus 6z is amazing. Very good colors. Easy on the eyes and very bright too. I never had a problem in outside sun. I bought asus 6z a week back. And it is an amazing phone for half the price of oneplus 7 pro.

Newer memory type hardly ever has any meaning (installing apps, operating on large number of files at once, what else?) and in real life scenarios both will just have perfect performance. When it comes to software I find OxygenOS overrated. Also, this new ZenUI takes similar approach to OOS - close to stock android with additional features.

Personally the one plus 7 pro is the clear choice for myself, and shall hopefully be getting it this summer. Alot of people were worried about the one plus 7 pro pop up camera when it came out but wouldnt the zenfone 6 camera be more likely to be damaged than the 7pros? with all its movement and such (i dont have enough knowledge on the matter so its a serious question).

In my opinion, the zenphone looks like it can break off more easily... The pop-up camera of samsung dust (or maybe water) can build up in de phone... Even though there is a rubber ring in the pop-up camera I'm still worried about the dust

I will take the 3.5 headphone jack over IP rating, OP7 does not supply USB C headphone dongle. Fingerprint scanner, win to the OP and the display screen wins hands down with HDR10. If Asus releases the 8/256 model in USA it's my choice but I don't believe we will see that variant. Speaker win imho to the OP7, much poor earphone speaker in Zenfone. Win to the OP for software. Win to Zenfone for one handed mode and also being lighter and a tad smaller. Haptic feedback win to OP and probably future updates as well. Storage win to OP for UFS 3.0 , a big bonus for large PC file transfer. Seems battery is similar but WARP wins. Camera , hmmm, pick your poison give edge to OP. However at end of day if I can save $125-150 on the Zenfone 6 in 8/256 variant I would pick it but no exact release date for US:(. Great review, if I could buy the Zenfone 6 today even 6/128 I would for the savings alone. If it does not come by mid July I will order the OP7 Pro

OnePlus 7 pro will definitely win the charging test with that 30W Warp charge, but zenfone 6 will win the endurance test with that 5000mah. For the price, compare it with last year zf 5z bc its should be at the same price at launch

Absolutely agreed. He even said oneplus 7 pro is better than zenfone 6 in terms of sound quality, which is impossible. Also for battery life part, I just can not believe that oneplus 7 pro could come close to zenfone 6. Oneplus 7 pro has really amazing display, but that's it. Other than that, it can't compete with Zenfone 6.
