Thanks for the review, I have a 3 floor house with the modem fitted in the attic, was thinking to connect one of these via the wan port in the attic with the other two on 2nd and 1st floor. Would this improve my coverage over the house? I also need coverage in the backyard though.

I have these and love them. Ive also added a repeater as part of my home AIMesh setup. That being said im surprised you mentioned "WPS button helps", when just about every security expert I know mention disabling it, lol. Ive got my home network setup with LAN backhaul for most, but one I had to switch to wireless backhaul. That being said I liked the ability to lock wireless devices to certain nodes in the Asus software.

The 3rd one with wireless backhaul, do you see a performance hit? I'm in two minds whether to use these 3 as main wireless setup or place an Asus router > switch> then 2 with ethernet and one wireless in loft.

@nauxsi there is a bit of a performance hit. The convenience makes up for it though. However annoyingly it sometimes doesn't "connect" to the main router and piggybacks off another client router.

@@hengineer That would make sense if it is the furthest unit away. I read that mesh units should be close to one another but then what's the point of wired backhaul if the software is trying to connect wirelessly. Because you just as well get two Asus routers and do aimesh like that also. You can do upto 5 according to Asus.
