Yep i bought a quad5 back few days ago, they very nice radio i was talking people 4miles away i talk to a trucker 42miles from me over in knoxville,tn area after got done 11meter mod on my quad 5 radio.

This radio sounds great. I know the top gun quad 5 is basically the same radio. Does the top gun sound the same?

I still think many people forget that any radio is only as good as the antenna it’s hooked to and the coax between it. Don’t be too quick to blame the radios if you are running junk antennas with brittle old coax

I have owned 3 of these . The first one was awesome and I gave it to a friend that needed one the last 2 were the worst radios I ever Owned. Dont know if I got lucky with the 1st one or bad luck with the last 2

@@Rooster_Radio the 1st one had great receive and audio. I ran it with a rm Italy 703p but I gave the set up to a friend and the last 2 I bought just had a horrible sound to it

@@Rooster_Radio to be honest I don’t even use 10 meter radios anymore. I now run a Cobra 29 with a 1 by 4 Carl Built and couldn’t be happier. Great audio and the receiver is awesome. Never new Cobras were that good!!! I ran through just about every 10 meter and big Ranger radio with amps on them that you can name even had 2 big custom builds. If I new how good Cobras are with power behind them I would have saved a ton of money over the last few years
