I loved watching NCIS when Mark Harmon was portraying Jethro Gibbs. He for me was the pivotal character in the show. He, being the Boss Man, I hung on to every word and all of his actions. He made the show, and now without him, it's not the same anymore!!!! Lucky I can watch the re-runs to see him at his best!!!! I will always love Jethro Gibbs aka Mark Harmon!!! He is a great actor in my eyes and is sorely missed!!!!!!!

I still watch NCIS weekly and enjoy but not as much as when Harmon was the iconic NCIS agent. I watch all the reruns, and this may be the reason I still watch the present show, I still think it would be an excellent idea to bring "Gibbs" back for special occasions. How about NCIS Europe? with Tony & Zeva??

Mark Harmon was the “quintessential” man for the role and I miss him. I’ve liked Gary Cole from his early performances on BOSTON LEGAL. He’s not as “Iron clad” as Leroy Gethro Gibbs, but don’t forget that he did release Gibbs, so Gibbs could stay back in Alaska and enjoy a new life of peaceful days fly fishing in the great waters of Alaska.

Abby and Gibbs were opposite characters that balanced the show. Without both the heart of the show is indefinite. It’s not the same. Mark Harmon has earned his retirement. It’s a true pity that things ended so badly the two of them and a peaceful solution couldn’t have been reached. They have both moved on to happier times and I wish them both great success.

The last few years that Harmon portrayed Gibbs was different than the beginning of the series. He was pushing the envelope more and more and blurring the lines between Justice and revenge. I was not liking Gibbs much by the time he attacked the dog fighter. I'm talking about the character, not necessarily Mark Harmon himself... But I think it was a foreshadowing of things to come. He lift Gibbs as a villain, not the hero he deserved to be remembered as. I think he should have left years ago before his character had gone off the rails.
