I love these videos because even after years studying French now, trying to hear and understand is still very difficult when it is spoken at full speed. Training my ear on slower French has helped with my own pronunciation and comprehension , also I really love the dialogue between Judith and Helene and the spots they show around Paris.

Using the KZbin function of slowing down the playback speed helps me, but this is still above my comprehension level as I'm still just trying to learn a few simple words and phrases.

This is fantastic content. I haven't spoken French much in the last 10 years and it's been 20 years since school so it's hard to retrain my ears to understand spoken French. I still read fluently, but I've lost a lot of my aural ability. These videos are so helpful in getting language input I can understand and that is useful in real life situations. Thank you!

Overall, this is a really positive project. I little while ago I stumbled upon this series, no. 152 I think, which was the one which introduced the radical - but not to me - concept of slow speech. I observed over the next ten or so a struggle with the concept; first retaining the word "slow" but not really the fact, then dropping the word and the fact. I thought the experiment had ended, and was sad to see that. However, I see here, or hear here, that it seems to have come back. Great! As a former, and perhaps future ESL teacher, I am aware that "authentic," including pace of delivery, speech has absudly widespread popularity, both among language teaching theorists and students themselves. So I can imagine those first - from around 152 - ventures into slow French encountered some headwinds. Pleased to see there has been persistence in the face of those. Another, and unequivocal this time, improvement has been the acceptance of subtitles in the L2; and accurate. One of the reasons I never bother with French cinema is its hostility to the concept of providing accurate (!) French subtitles. There is a bizarre phenomenon going back at least fifty years, in many languages, where the subtitle track is radically different from the (same) language of the film. There are several thousand languages that I don't know, but as far as I am aware, the only one where that doesn't apply is English. That is, the only language in the world which doesn't need any assistance to maintain its standing, English, is the only one that gets that assistance; and it is everywhere.

Au lieu de : Here is the cheese stand. 🇨🇦Linda

I love the market! The butter looks so good! Small nitpick though: shouldn't bulots be classified as mollusqes or fruits de mer, not crustacés, or is crustacés used more loosely than the English word crustaceans?

Hi! I have an accent related question. In the video, the girl with the glasses often includes an extra ‘f’ at the end of the word ‘kilo’, making it ‘kilof’. Whereas the other girl didn’t do it once. Is this a regional accent trait or something else? Thanks!
