Love how when the effects question came up, Zacky actually did intend to brave an answer, but in the end he acknowledged his limitations and turned to the slightly-more-tech-savvy Brian for help. That is not an insult on my part, Zacky himself has acknowledged multiple times that he is a very instinctive guitarist with a very scant knowledge of music theory, so he pretty much just plays live (some quasi-reliable sources claim that beginning with City the Haners have played the entirety of Avenged’s studio guitar work) whatever rhythms and harmonies Syn tells him to play.

+sylvana myers belive it or not i dont actually really like syn gates tone... Love him, his playing, his guitar, but what he dials in i just dont like. I even got to shred on the Hellwin and it sounds great, but i dont like it the way he uses it :/ Zacky's tone on the other hand is BOSS af, really fucking punchy, saturated and clear. His tone is similar to how i model mine when it comes to rock that fits that tone.

Those "buttons" are for coil tapping, you pull up on them, and it splits the pickups into single coil pickups

3:25 10-15 years ago almost nobody played Marshall’s in the scene atleast. Everyone played peavey, orange or evh amps and used mesa, orange or peavey cabs. It was like the standard you weren’t cool if u didn’t use them. I was guilty of this too.

@paparoachhaenger14 I wouldn't really say better. Active pickups are really clear, not to say passives aren't, but there are significantly different tones you can get out of certain pickups. It really depends on what tones you like. I like how EMGs sound, but under some conditions they can sound stale. My only advice is to find audio samples and decide yourself. While I enjoy EMGs, Seymour Duncan makes some great sounding pickups. If the A7X sound is what you want, Invaders are a good choice.
