So sorry that you all are going through this. Will definitely add you all to my prayers. I’m so glad no one was hurt in the accident. My adult son lives with me; I’m his caretaker. He is on disability and I’m on social security so I know about financial challenges. I remind myself of what others are going through and thank God every day for our blessings. Stay strong….one day at a time. I read something the other day….God puts mountains before us so we can show others that they can be climbed. He never promised it would be easy, but He did promise to always be with us. 😊

Hi Carolyn, nail tech here. I just wanted to share a tip with you.... fill the bottom of the soak off bowl with hot water (not scalding hot) and it will help to speed up the soak off time. Dip nails are the WORST to soak off and do take a long time. I refuse to do them on clients, so kudos to you! Dip nails are actually acrylic by the way. Same as the acrylic powder used for acrylic nails, only those use monomer to apply. If you get fed up doing the dip nails buy some glue on tips. They can last for a few weeks too and so quick and easy to apply. They have improved a lot in the past few years since the virus. You can probably get some nice ones from Walmart. I am not in the US so I don't know for sure. So sorry to hear about your son. Best wishes to him and you xXx

@@CaravanCarolyn Here are some tips to prevent chipping. I use Sally Hansen products for my cuticles and also 2 coats of her double duty base coat. After it dries I apply my choice of Revlon creme polish. Also apply 2 coats. Then after polish dries I apply one coat of Sally's top coat for a beautiful shiny finish. My manicure lasts about 12 days. Sometimes I will do a minor touch up on a couple of nails if needed.

So sorry to hear about your son. I've been through something similar with one of my sons. He hasn't worked in 4 years. It is a strain on me as all I have is SS, no savings (I'm 80). So I understand. I also had the Mother heart pains for my son's plight, as I'm sure you do. He had to live in his truck for a year, and I almost did. These days our grown children have a harder life challenge with the high cost of living. And when illness strikes they are just a month away from potential homelessness. I'll certainly keep you both lifted up in my spiritual life. God bless!

I love your nails, you did a great job…I got a dip once in a nail shop and they looked awful. You should do nails on the side, you’re very good at it. So sorry to hear about your son, I have epilepsy (since I was a child) and it does affect your driving situation. I haven’t had a seizure in over 20 yrs but I have to get a new drivers license for Utah so I have to have the neurologist in Nevada fill out all this ppwk (which she charges for) so I can get the license…it really sucks, praying for you both ❤️

Hi Carolyn, 👋 South Texas is beautiful too, in the fall and winter. It's still very hot here, definitely hot enough to swim. I do my own nails too. I prefer the glue on nails by KISS. The French Manicure is my favorite. I buy the ones for flat nails as they fit best. One box is about $5. I can get 2 manicures from one box. I coat the finished nails with a clear top coat, just to seal them better and make them look more natural. They stay on for about 10 days. They're a lot faster than the gel nails. ❤ Hugs, Candace

I will certainly pray for your boy and his situation. You have a lot on your plate, and prayers for you as well. My husband of 57 years passed away 3 months ago, and I am having to adjust to having half the money to live on. It has been a new experience, and I am slowly adjusting to it. It has made me appreciate more, it's hard to define. One thing I have found out is, God doesn't nessasarily gives us our wants, but he does take care of our needs. Count on that Carolyn, he won't let you down. He provides a way. No, I am not a religious nut case, I'm just a believer who is living it. I loved your video today. I have never had a manicure, nor have I seen one done. Very interesting! The things they have come up with in this modern day! I use to polish my nails when young, but that was all you put on the nail, was the polish, and nothing else. I have had a life long passion for working in the garden, so never bothered with my nails, just worried about getting them clean. lol! I hope your son is getting very good care, and his medications work. My grand daughter started having seizures at 23 years old. She is on meds that are controling it. You have my heart's sympathy on the issues your son and you are dealing with! My son too has some mental issues he deals with. Took him years to find the right combo of drugs, and not too long after that he got married. Turns out she, too, has health issues, one of which is seizures. He thankfully doesn't have those, but meant he's doing the driving to work for both of them. And for awhile she was unable to work at all, so we've been helping them out quite a lot, too. We parents do hurt when our children hurt, so I know what you're going through! You and he both will definitely be in my prayers now! I'm one of those people too cheap and too lazy on the upkeep to ever have had my nails done. But I always find it interesting to see how others do it. You'll be in my thoughts!!

I am SO very sorry, Carolyn. I agree with another poster that he needs to find something to do, even volunteer work. I have suffered with chronic depression most of my life and have been on meds for it for years…no bad side effects except I feel numb, no joy or sadness…flat. So my plan is to work with a psychiatrist to safely wean off of them. I believe strongly in the power of prayer and will include you and your son in those prayers!❤

If you have been on medication for most of your life, please don't go off. Maybe it's been so long ago you don't remember how devastating your life was. Since you believe in God, believe he put smart Dr's in your life to give you a medication to help all these years. I tried to just lower my dosage and it was horrible. How smart of you to do your own nails. I taught myself to do mine by brushing on gel on the tips and using UV light. I'm good to go Nail salons... cut me, had lifting..so rude...and the price has tripled! So sorry to hear about your son. Have you ever considered talking to him about going carnivore? I went from wanting to die everyday to never having those feelings again. It has done amazing things with my mental health. Just have him try it for at least 30 days,(better if it was ninety days) It’s amazing how good I feel. Never in my life felt this good. I have decreased the dosage and I am now trying to get off my meds. Praying for your son and you.

I am so sorry to hear about your son. I just finished my 72 hour EEG to see if I am having seizures. Initially we were searching for silent migraines. Then came across this in the two hour test. I won’t know my results until the middle of November. If I can’t drive anymore my life may as well be over. I’m retired so my job doesn’t depend on it but my social life, such as it is at my age definitely depends upon my ability to drive.

Oh Dianne, I'm so sorry. When I was first being tested for MS I had one thank goodness it was negative. I don't think it ever even occurred to me that I might not be able to drive. It's kind of hard to be a cop if you can't drive. If you do get a positive result, remember, Uber and Lyft could be cheaper than owning a car. Just an idea.

@@CaravanCarolyn i live in a small town about 35 miles outside San Antonio. We don’t have Uber or Lyft out here. We don’t get Instacart either. And we can only order non refrigerated items for drive up because we are not set up for cold stuff. I am married. My husband can drive for a while longer but he is going blind so that could end soon as well. He also has prostate and bone cancer. Early stages right now but I am concerned about transportation for later in life. Both our children live at least 3 hours away and have full time jobs. So it’s not like they can drop everything to just chauffeur us around. Life picks the darndest times to kick us in the ass doesn’t it? Keep posting. I look forward to seeing what you are up to every day. I keep hoping one of these days when I am making my trip to Arizona we could meet up for lunch. Maybe next year. I have already done all the traveling I can handle for this year. I’m praying for your son. Something will show up. It may take time but it always does.

I do dip nails at home if you put cotton and acetone in a baggie and then stick the bag in hot water enough not to burn yourself. It speaks of faster I've soaked my nails off in 5 minutes

Hi Carolyn, I use Curvlife glue. There are two to pick from, Sally's has a glue that is good, and Pink Friday when I used that glue my nails were on like cement yet easy to get off. Pink Friday nails were on 15 days until I wanted new nails. I also put them on after I shower at night so they are on all night as I sleep no water & no usage. I use gloves when I wash dishes. I live in a 5th Wheel so no dish washer.

Hi Carolyn, Ron and family ....hugs 🤗. Sending you positive energy. This may be a crazy question, but...would your son and his wife/chid be able to come live with you guys if things get really financially rough for them? Even in the front room. Inflation and rent have gotten out of hand these last 5 years. Some KZbin videos have put for info that food inflation has risen 40% in the last 4 or 5 years. Hugs and all the best to us all ✨😊✨.

Def in my prayers as my son also is going through some things after coming back from the Army after 4 years 🇺🇸 he is Cameron’s age also. 💅 look marvelous! In the 70s I lived at home in NYC and worked on 59th Street right near Bloomingdale's (what fun that was during lunchtime). I started getting sculpted nails, they were $50 for a full set, a lot of money back then, but I had money to play with having no bills to pay. I could everything needed, including typing, with the tips of the nails, they were so strong. Once I started working in Westchester County I stopped getting my nails done and went back to my miserable, soft natural nails. Your nails look good even before the dip nails.

My nails are only grown out because of them being covered with the dip. Naturally, they're thin and break easily.
