One year later back again for my yearly dose of O'Brien ! I realised that this house looks like the inside of my brain ! When they buy something new they must spend ages wandering around the place looking for somewhere to put it. I have a store room full of pictures and antiques and cupboards here are there and the house isn't even finished decorating. I thought that it would be like a store that I could go find something for a particular spot one day. I have this thing when I say 'no more paintings' then the other day I bought five oil paintings, fortunately two were small, the smallest one being a bowl of strawberries in a lovely frame, who could resist. After watching so many 'build' videos where houses are put up with a nail gun, it's refreshing and reasuring to see houses built as they should be, good solid 'forever' builds. Thank you girls again xoxoxoxo

At first it's like wow, that's a lot of stuff but then it has a beautiful chaotic look to it that makes it work. I mean, it's lived in versus beautiful things placed in a house like a museum rather than having them because you love them and live with them like Thomas. What an extraordinary place! So much space with some many rooms both in the house and garden. How on earth does anyone find time to dust all those lovely things, let alone maintain the property!? You could get lost for days just exploring the houses, contents and the beautiful gardens. I am so pleased he called his garden a garden, not a yard? How can a garden be a yard?! A yard is what you find in a farm!

Farms have fields Outside the barn (the animal home) is the farmyard Outside a stable is a stableyard Outside the house is the yard A yard may have a flower/shrub/even herb garden in it but not a food garden. That would be “over in the garden”, to the edge.

Watching this again, can't get enough of it, if I visited it would take me years to look at every detail and object and I love the back stories behind things. Yesterday I watched a 'visit' of Gwyneth Paltrow's home somewhere and as much as it was a nice house, there was absolutely no personality in it whatsoever, it was designed and built like a model home, as a space to impress. Thomas' homes are so full of personality that you have to sqeeze in sideways ! I suppose that the world needs both. xo

I am happy to see someone living there best life and if all of there stuff make them happy, then I am double happy for them... My neighboor that I said good morning to died before sunrise the next day, but she enjoyed all of her worldly stuff , because it was her stuff. Blessings
