I personally wouldn’t mind going up a long flight of stairs. If you think about it….every time you go up and down them, that’s a mini workout in itself especially if there’s one day where you have to use them more than 2 times, that’s basically a couple minutes of cardio. It may be an older building but sometimes older buildings and houses are the ones with the most charm, history, and character.

@@3CandiesInTX I like Frisco a lot. Very clean and safe city! But I do miss being in smaller and older spaces- not really caring about the dangers of the city I'm in. That really brings back the feeling of freedom from my 20's. But with parenthood comes upgrading the thought process and providing a quality area to raise kids. @Celiatoulaye4 күн бұрын
@@fitzyfitz95 It is True that people have no choice. But I’m not sure they’re aware that landlords have no choice either but to adapt the rent or to payback all the extra money they got monthly from the renter - to the renter. Or the fine will be 15000€. Since January 23 it’s no more possible to break the law and as it used to be tolerated people don’t really defend their rights. My own landlord could have not renewed my lease but the cost would have been to pay me back all the money I wasn’t supposed to pay.

Oh I didn’t know about this law! That’s good to know, thanks for sharing :)
@gurikuri15959 күн бұрын
There is a similar law in France but it applies to new buildings and renovation if possi le. If they had to tear down all the old buildings that cannot get an elevator, Paris would become pass from oppressively over packed to empty.... Then there is probably an elevator in that building, just not on the side of the maids’s and they don’t want to take space from one of the nice large flats to create a corridor and let her access the elavator.

I think it's hilarious that so many people in the comments section are going nope could never live like that. I don't know if you've never stayed in a dorm, you have a place that size or smaller that you're sharing with another person or 2. There's no private shower, no private little kitchenette and you have to share a bathroom with about 60 other people. @davidignaz9 күн бұрын
She is the luckiest student in Paris then! :)
@puccaland9 күн бұрын
@davidignaz No. That's pretty common that the chambre de bonne are used to rent to students, many are rented through the CROUS which manages the state scholarships and allows students to get cheap accommodation and cheap food. Basically a student bedroom in Paris can be found between 300~700 euros depending on where they rent. Then on top the students eligible to the housing benefits, which is granted or not depending on their family's revenues, will get it and the amount will depend on their family revenues. Some students even pay no rent after the housing benefits deduction. Most students in the Greater Paris live inside Paris proper.
