Also instead of moving your fire place upstairs just use your small tv and get a fireplace background on KZbin to play. That way you could change the tv background to match the mood of your podcast

I love how you throw yourself whole heartedly into your projects. Being such a procrastinator who rarely puts dreams into practice watching you makes me feel energised to actually do something!

Seeing that old chair, and the relaxed mood you want, reminded me of 'that's life', with Cyril Fletcher and his Odd Odes, not sure if you're old enough to remember, but there is video ;)

Hi, Rick loving this new project series, i've been watching you and subscribed since your allotment days!! would you be open to us- the viewers suggesting possible topics for you to talk about on the podcast?
@didisinclair36059 ай бұрын
I had that thought as well! Perhaps once a month, people could submit snippits of ideas, and you could choose 3 or 4, and the challenge would be blending them into a story. you are such a great story teller, Rick. I dunno if this appeals, but there you go! Loving what your doing!

Absolutely, in a way, I think I am going to be relying on input from anybody listening to help keep it interesting and focused on the stuff people want to hear about 😊👍

I'm so enjoying these videos & really looking forward to the podcasts. Really like the idea of Fireside chats, it reminded me that every Christmas i used to buy my Grandmother a little book that cameviut every year, an annual i suppose & it was called The Fireside Book Of David Hope, it was full of cosy stories & very popular back then. I think you have earned a good rest. Annie🏴

Can’t help but wonder how your DJ booth would sound in the new space. Really looks cool - I dig the pattern you created.

Rick what about a podcast for self employed people. Finances, ideas, income, taxes, slow money months, the good the bad and the ugly?

They’ve been done to death to be honest, pretty much every other podcast out there is about that very subject I’m going for something a little more chilled 😊👍

Tiles looking good in place now, and looks like they went up with minimum effort. Hope the other ones inflated ok. The fireplace idea while nice, I don’t think fits in with the vision you have for your walls which look like they are going to be modern and smart. I think carry on with that theme rather than try to mix the two, then you have avoided another change around downstairs. Looking good though !

You could position your spare TV screen with a fire screensaver or KZbin image playback. Some have crackling sound effects. Not sure about the old fogie chairs. The black and grey holds a more modern theme.

I don’t think you need a certain topic for your podcasts because that will leave lots of stones unturned-just talk of what’s of interest to you at the time.🙂(Ricks Ponderings)x

One episode could be a piece to camera, a dating monologue. So you'd be sat there holding a conversation, replying to imaginary questions. Potentially going off on tangents in your reply, maybe inserting clips when referencing certain trips. The camera would be the date.

Why don’t you create a small drywall to divide the room in two, so you won’t need so many tiles. If you don’t want a semi permanent one, maybe you can create a mobile one.

Love the idea of a cosy relaxed fireside podcast Rick, as like you said, your voice suits that relaxed style. You could change little props in your podspace to go with the seasons or subject matter. I just have to ask you about the teddy I keep seeing on your sofa though, is he your childhood teddy? 🐹❤ I've sill got mine and I'm the same age as you 😊

Thanks for the feedback, I’m liking the props idea :) Buddy the bear was given to me a number of years ago by a family member and he just kind of sits there and chills. Over the years he’s sort of become like a companion and I sometimes find myself talking and sounding out ideas with him 😂

Okay, I've got an idea. So you *are* laid back. You've got the nice sweater. You could some in, sit down, talk to us, then have a little trolley come out. And you could have the trolley go out of site and lead us into the Land of Make-Believe. Maybe get some puppets going or something? Just an idea.

Holding on that talking to camera theme - another episode could be a fictitious job interview. You'd be able to open up about skills, experience, things you've done or would like to do? Another could be a confession booth style, where you're sat in a booth in church, maybe create a frame around the camera, and confess something... or make up a confession. A murder perhaps? Unintentional. As you reversed your vehicle unintentionally impaling a little old lady on a traffic cone. The eulogy - you do a piece to camera as though at your own funeral. Addressing the audience, recounting your life. This could take a comedic turn if desired. The speed date - you would play a selection of characters who sits in front of the camera, and we the audience would be the date. The Address - Your message to the United Nations general assembly (on any topic) where you are imagined to be live fed to the council and you're delivering them the answer to some great problem.
