At Last the 1948 Show: The Four Yorkshiremen - Remastered

Unofficial Remastering of the original 'Four Yorkshiremen' sketch, from the 2nd series of 'At Last the 1948 Show'
Originally recorded on 405 line videotape, this sketch now survives only as a 16mm film recording. I've attempted to restore it to something resembling it's original 1967 videotape appearance.
Pictures are sourced from the BFI DVD boxset, with higher-quality magnetic audio from the Swedish compilations*. A short remastering comparison follows the sketch

Classic! Thank you for the remastering. In my day, we would have had to remaster it by licking it foot by foot with our tongues, 20 hours a day down mill for tuppence a week!

Luxury! We had to go t' cemetery, dig up brooke-taylor, feldman and chapman, lick them clean...kidnap cleese and get him dry cleaned...pay ha'penny for septic tank to keep them preserved in, whilst we worked down mill, then come back to our hole in the ground, fish them out of the tank...then jump start cleese with elecrtic cables so we could use them as puppets to produce the final remaster!

This is fucking amazing! I've never been able to get such fantastic results in AviSynth, but you've even managed to replicate the natural Videotape grain.

I've spent some time attempting to replicate analogue video noise, tbh I think I may have overdone it a tad on this - but there are so few examples of genuine 405 line video available it's hard to tell! Also I've never really used AviSynth so I don't know what results it's capable of. This instance needed a lot of manual clean-up though

Fantastic improvement! Thank you for taking the time to remaster this classic. I wondered what software you use for upscaling, frame interpolation, and grain reduction. I saw a Two Minute Papers video about an AI-based frame interpolation process which was impressive, resulting in fluid motion like that seen in your restoration.

This is a terrible version. They're not listening to each other, they're just delivering their lines
