Forgiveness is not for those that did the wrong. Forgiveness is for the one who was wronged so they can move forward and not blame themselves and gaslight themselves/ or by others, that wrong was deserved. Telling people to forgive someone who hurt them, telling them to get other it or turn the other cheek down plays the hurt. Minimising it to gaslight and manipulate the person who was wronged into believing the hurt is justified. Opening the door to be hurt again.

I believe that people who say "too little, too late" are wrong and should be giving the benefit of the doubt. I believe in this video, the changes the parents were claiming to have made were genuine and without ulterior motive.

Its hard to give someone the benefit of the doubt when you've been hurt repeatedly when you've done so before. I understand the need to let go, but there are somethings you can't let go, otherwise you'll be hurt again.
