Absolutely agree. The backlight, buttons and many other features are directly visible taken from Lexus. One gets the feeling that they made a new Lexus model, and then changed their minds and stuck the Toyota badge.

The lighting with the interior was designed similar to a aircraft cockpit. Blue or red lights reduce strain on the eyes in dark areas. Yes they maybe accent lighting but they do serve a purpose while driving in a dark road or highway. The eyes will have a less of a hard time adjusting to high lighted areas into a dark area.

I’m 25 and just got a red Limited as well. I mention I’m 25 because I personally prefer luxury and comfort over sport lol… ALWAYS loved Lexus growing up. So my local Toyota actually bought back my RAV4 lease and gave me $8,000 above market to go towards my new Venza lease! Less than $100 more a month. Happiest I’ve ever been with a car!!

That is a very unique comment, well done bro! I just finished a 1200 mile trip in a 2024 Red Limited Venza, absolutely loved racing through the mountain roads with excellent handling and brakes!! Pretty darn sporty for a Lexus/limousine like drive! Easily get over 40mpg too, when not racing.

My Mom just bought a Limited trim last weekend and loves it! She got it in the "Titanium Glow" color. She almost got the 2021 Highlander Hybrid Platinum, but liked the Venza better. My Stepdad wanted her to get the Highlander lol, but with them retiring in the next few years they really don't need a 3 row SUV with us kids gone lol. Plus they have my Stepdads 2021 Silverado lol

My $25k Dodge Challenger had functional and ambient lights everywhere. Brighter, crisper, sharper exterior lights as well. If Dodge can do it in 2015 why not Toyota in 2020?

I had no idea what dodge was doing in regards to lighting I’ve never owned one or driven one and I don’t know any personally who had one. That’s cool. I was just about to buy one until I found out the rear turn signal is in the bumper. That is too low. Driver behind will have a hard time seeing it. So stupid. Its not even eye level. What the heck the designer thinking? Yes there is sign on the side mirror but Its almost like a blind spot if you are behind it driving a truck or bid suv.

@@mephi5t0 you are probably 100% correct. I mean I’m sure you are correct. I did go car shopping and buying on Saturday. I took photos of everything but I found only 1 Toyota Venza in all of Oklahoma City (a bad hailstorm) killed the other 4 near me. Anyways I check out Venza and went in to negotiate and an elderly couple came in with a $38 cashiers check from their credit union and outbid me. I’m 34. The salesman came and said he was sorry and the manager too and said we have to take the larger offer that was simultaneously being handed to us. So the dealer did make profit off getting sticker: they tell me people are snatching them up due to chip shortage. I did get to drive it before that happened as I showed up at 9am and met the salesman I talked to the day before by phone. Either way. It was nice. A little loud when pushed. But would have met my needs and of course it gets like 43 mpg City!! So I left there and went to the dealer next door which is Mazda and then Honda. I have driven the Mazda CX-9 & CX-5 and even this visit the CX-30 w/ turbo & AWD. I selected the middle kid, the CX-5 loaded up with everything in Snowflake White Pearl & Parchment leather. I went over my budget a little but you don’t get much under $39k. I’m very pleased & happy but I would agree that my Mazda is not the same animal as a Hybrid and I’ll try to get a Hybrid again next time in 3 years. Thank you for sharing your insights

I’d GLADLY give up my 2021 Toyota Venza Limited that’s only 2 months old and leased for 36 months. It’s unfortunate that a almost $44,000 vehicle doesn’t have a light in the glove box and console. The headLights as he mentioned are only fair IMO. Not to mention a non opening moonroof. On the plus side, the mileage is incredible at 43 mpg in town and it drives nice. So the lesson learned is this: drive a car at night, checking all the things you’d think would light up. Don’t assume it’s there because you’ll get disappointed like me when it’s not. One other thing, after 2 months you’ll know it’s only a Toyota, not even close to a Lexus.

Other vehicles that are much less expensive have lights that look cool for "atmosphere" that also allow me to SEE. I like that better. Why is that clueless?

If it improves the “supposed function” of illumination, then it’s an improvement, not a detriment to the vehicle being tested. Can’t degrade a vehicle for doing what it states. Just think about it.
