Eagle’s Nest Shelter(mi. 1211.3) to Port Clinton, PA (mi. 1220.4) Only had 9 miles to Port Clinton, PA this morning, but started out with an empty belly because I got hungry in the middle of the night and ate my last pop tart ha ha. It’s great timing for my resupply as I only had one freeze dried meal left, and that was it for food. We picked this town as a mail drop because you literally walk within a block of the post office, which is awesome. When I got there, there was a small line because it didn’t open until 12:30 pm. Ironically, two of the women in line were from Maine, one from Portland and one from Monson. The lady from Monson goes by the trail name “Steady”, her real name is Donna. A friend of mine had told me he’d seen her on Facebook and it was very funny that I actually ran into her. From there, I got a ride to the local all you can eat Chinese buffet, and hung out there about an hour. I walked from there to the Walmart to get some simple supplies, then started walking to the hotel, which was about 2 1/2 miles away. I made it as far as the McDonald’s where I was figuring a vanilla milkshake would come in handy. While I was there, I met a lady named Janet who was curious about my journey and very graciously gave me a ride the last 2 miles to the hotel. I unpacked and repacked my bag and I am all ready for the morning after a nice shower and some relaxation.
Todays menu: Extra large Snickers bar, medium French fry, small chocolate frosty, Mounds candy bar, small bag of skittles, 2 bottles of protein water, medium vanilla milkshake, a Chinese all you can eat buffet (use your imagination!), honey stinger waffle, bag of Fritos, and water with Mio additive.
