Crazy how similar this looks to the E5960, with the base looking the same but I prefer the phone of the E5960 compared to the E5640. Question for you Rod, when it comes to making modifications to phones like this have you ever found a way to add custom ringtones? I’ve been wanting to have the Spy song in TF2 as my ringtone especially for when my mother in law calls. Another question is there a way to change it so that you can have multiple ringtones for different numbers? Let’s say if my dad calls, the phone will emit ringtone #1 like the song by Beyoncé, Halo, and then another number calls my phone the ringtone that is emitted is something along the lines of the song by Jay-Z Amigos in Paris? Just something I really would like to add that personal touch to whoever is calling, thanks for your continuous videos I really appreciate your trips to Dollar Tree!

Hello! I also do prefer the E5960 more compared to this one. But this one is also really special to me. You can make modifications, but I think that it’s easier to do it on the Panasonic phones. You can add custom ringers, but you need to detach the memory chip and you need to mount it on your computer using some chip reader devices. Your ringtone files also have to be .MIDI. There could be a way that you can have a different ringer for a contact. But that is a software related question. And I don’t think we can really do anything with the software and how it works. But some phones such as the E5960C have that option. And again, if you want to have custom ringers, my suggestion is that to get a unit that allows you to record ringers on it. And those ones usually also allow you to have different ringers for callers. Thank you very much! Have a great day! Sincerely, Rod.
