It is pretty impressive how well JerryWorld has aged. Definitely a testament to how much it raised the bar.

"Breaking the Mold" is the perfect way to put it. This is truly a remarkable structure. The logistics of the architecture, engineering, and construction would boggle the mind. Fine video. Thank you.

I think there is one issue about this stadium, it doesn't have any public transit system whatsoever for people to come here without a car. Like much of the DFW suburbs, Arlington doesn't have a public transit system at all. Imagine having a tram stop or a rail station that people from the east or west to arrive and enjoy the facility.
@jaylucien669

Arlington is largest city in the country without mass transit. Which is ridiculous seeing as they're the tourism epicenter of the entire Metroplex. There is a way to get there on gamedays via the TRE and special gameday only busses. But it's a pain in the ass from what i've heard.
@djtrankilo231
@djtrankilo231 2 жыл бұрын
To be fair, the DFW area isn't exactly crammed in like bigger cities like Chicago or New York are, so traffic flow isn't exactly as horrible as those cities or like LA or Miami. I went to the Thanksgiving game last year and my hotel was in the outskirts. Granted, I took an Uber from my hotel to the stadium and traffic wasn't completely horrible (despite the construction) till my driver pulled in near the stadium (probably because it was Thanksgiving). But it wouldn't surprise me if JerryWorld hosts the the 2026 World Cup Final, despite having MANY international fans attending not knowing anything about the DFW.

@@djtrankilo231 Still stupid for tourist (from a European hellhole) like me...but I will a rent car anyway. This year I traveled along the East coast (Boston, New York Philly and Washington DC)...all by foot, bus, subway or train. Compared with Germany these cities have a very good public transport systems, and the Amtrak trains and stations were also far better in service in punctuality than their German counterparts. But aside from Chicago, the Midwest and Texas will be a car issue.

It’s soulless and corporate as someone who grew up primarily as a college football fan; the food is the perfect blend of overpriced while remaining mediocre at best too. Better pay that $55 for parking (last time I went) or risk it in the bad neighborhoods in all directions. At least they managed to fix the acoustics that made it impossible to hear anything when it first opened.

It’s a top 5 stadium still and probably will be for years to come. None of the stadiums on the horizon look like they will compete with it. Sofi, Allegiant, US Bank are the only 3 that surpass it and Lucas Oil is on Par with it. Other than that none of the other stadiums really compare.

I live in Dallas and couldn’t disagree more. It’s far away, so getting to it is a pain. There are something like 6 or 7 decks of luxury boxes, so the upper deck is the highest of high nosebleeds I’ve ever been to. It also provides almost no home field advantage for the Cowboys, as it’s cavernous feel just doesn’t retain noise well at all.

@@taylorb7191 Well, that's not Jerry's fault, it was supposed to be where Fair Park is but the politicians at the time wouldn't budge so he took the team to Arlington instead. Can't blame him either, Fair Park and that general area is still a mess to this day and that discussion happened like 2 decades ago. Dallas politicians screwed us out of having our team close, not Jerry. And have you never taken a tour of the facility!? I highly recommend it. It's an amazing stadium, you should give it a chance!

And to think, this thing was built for "only" $1.2 billion. If they were building it now, you're looking at $5.5 billion *easy!* Smart to build stadiums in recessions (2009) vs. building them in a time of crippling inflation (2023).

It's too bad that Jerry Jones didn't feel the need to live up to the reputation he tries to build up. The Yankees and Dodgers feel no need to sell the name of their iconic stadiums to corporations. This should be just "Cowboys Stadium." (Or, if he should call it what fans of the other 31 teams call it----Jerry's World.)

I've lived here for about 41 years and I can probably count on one hand how many people that I have heard reference the team that way and I can count on zero hands how many times I've heard the old or new stadium called that.... on zero hands.... because it's zero... zero times. Now I will give you this, I have heard the team called that hundreds if not thousands of times. But as I said... I can count on one hand the number of PEOPLE I've heard say it. How is this you may ask? Well it's typically because those very few that do say it are the type to laugh at their own joke and repeat it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over because they don't think everyone heard the joke they think they invented and they want to make sure everyone including total strangers know how contrarian and edgy they are.... in fact they are the coolest people they know!
