I'm hoping someone can help me here. I have been searching everywhere but nothing. When I attach the SMAD P3 to my FX9 it says "unsupported mi device connected" but the camera is listed on the supported list. Anyone have any ideas?

I've been looking everywhere for an answer. Hope you can help. When using this with a non-sony camera, like the GH5, will it give two separate channels of audio (one for each mic) or is it mixed into one track? Pleeeease let me know if you have time. Thanks.

I have a GH4 and a set of two UTX-B03 transmitters and a URX-P03D receiver. I hooked up the GH4 and the URX with a split cord that I think came with the wireless system. It's three 3,5mm jacks. The URX has two outputs, so I plugged in the split end of the cord into that, and plugged the last one into my GH4. I recorded a clip and the took it into Premiere. When I put the clip on a timeline, the audio is in one piece - like a stereo audio file. But I managed to split it up into two separete mono tracks/channels using "Modify > Audio channels" in the Project view in Premiere. I changed the clip channel format to mono, and increased the number of audio clips to two - and voilá! It works.

Thanks for the video! How do you control the audio levels (like you would for XLR inputs in professional Sony camcorders)?
@AbelCine_official4 жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks for your question! Here is an answer from Geoff, one of our tech specialists: "The monitor (headphones) and audio output levels can be adjusted in the receiver's Utility menu. The default output level is 0dB but can be adjusted from -12dB to +12dB in 3dB increments. Once received by a camera like the FS7 or FS7II (if the receiver is connected via the SMAD-P3D Mi-shoe accessory dock), the level of the audio signal can also be set from within the camera's Audio menu."

You mention you can plug in a wired microphone for a third channel on the pack, does that get mixed into the two mono's or does it activate a third track/channel on the hotshoe? Would it work with A series cameras?

Help!!! Thanks for this presentation ... very useful! I have a problem! I'm using the URX-P03D receiver with the SMAD-P3D MI shoe mount with a Sony A7IV camera. It's excellent BUT it cuts out after around a minute every time I use it. This is infuriating obviously. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

What is the reporter mic that I can buy to use in the UTX-P03 transmitter?

When the two channels are received from the two microphones, and put into the camera using the hot shoe. Are they recorded separately as mono left and right? Or are they mixed in the receiver so both signals are heard equally on both channels?
@AbelCine_official6 жыл бұрын
Hi Mitchell, Sorry for the delayed response, here is a response from Nic, one of our tech specialists: "This is configured on the camera. When using the MI Shoe adapter, each Sony camera defaults to two mono inputs. On cameras like the FS7, it activates two additional channels (3 and 4) to be used in addition to the two normal inputs. On mirrorless cameras like the A7 family, the audio would be routed to the two normal tracks and the internal mic deactivated."

I have a Sony A7sii but couldn't find a setting for configuring the audio channels when using the URX-P03D with the Sony SMADP3D multi interface. The audio will be baked into a single (two-mono) " stereo track that you can split up in post. You split the single track into two separete mono tracks/channels using "Modify > Audio channels" in the Project view in Premiere. You change the clip channel format to mono, and increase the number of audio clips to two - one for the right channel and one for the left channel.

@@frippfilm but how do you adjust the levels on the fly?
@frippfilm2 жыл бұрын
@@FirozkohJ I have gone full auto on the levels on my A7sii. When using URX-P03D the audio levels setting is grayed out in the Settings>Camera>8 menu. And from what I can find, you can only change the input level for an external mic (not the RF inputs). But I could be wrong. On my FS7 I can adjust the levels in the menu, but often I just leave them on auto.

Hi can you do linein in tx1 and mic in tx2 ? e.g a desk feed and presenter HH mic ?
@AbelCine_official6 жыл бұрын
Answer from Nic, one of our tech specialists: Yes, you can set the the body pack wireless transmitter to receive a line signal from your source. That will get sent to the receiver and sent out at the appropriate level based on your settings on the receiver.

Hi, is this dual channel receiver ( urx-p03d ) compatible with the new lavaliers and plug ins such sony utx-b40 and sony utx-m40 ? thank you
@AbelCine_official4 жыл бұрын
Hello, sorry for the delay, here is a reply from Andrew, one of our audio specialists: The receivers are compatible as long as the UTX-B40 and UTX M40 is the same frequency band as your URX-Po3d. As Sony has discontinued some frequency bands, it's critical to check but as long as they are same you can use them and the new autogain feature on those transmitters.

Not sure if I'll get a response here, but worth a shot. I'm using this dual channel receiver with my A7siii and hearing a ton of noise. I have tried adjusting input and output levels on both the receiver and transmitter, but it will not go away. Do you know what might be causing this static hiss? Thank you.

This dual receiver is useless if you’re using two transmitters. It works fine when you’re using one transmitter but as soon as you turn on the 2nd transmitter you get interference and the RF signal turns red. After weeks of troubleshooting I’ve come to this conclusion. You can use the Dual transmitters if you’re 1-10ish feet away from the receiver. But if you’re in the 30 foot range, you get interference and static. If you turn one off one of the dual slot on the receiver then the static and interference instantly clears up. Sony should not have marketed that this as a dual receiver. It’s not dual. I’ve run many situations where I had to stop interviews and switch to hard wire.
