Richard I can remember going to the equipment dealer 50 years ago and looking at all the "new" stuff there. Loved to go with my Grand father looking at equipment. Question do you have farm auctions?? They are getting rarer here in the US. Fewer farmers and a lot of consignment sales have cut down on the old style complete farm sale. When I started farming I remember going to a farm sale an buying an electric cloths dryer ( just had got married, we used the dryer for 10-15 years LOL) , ten 3 year old Hereford brood cows, and a flatbed wagon. I got a lot of funny looks going home. I had the livestock trailer behind the pickup with the flat bed wagon hooked to the back of the trailer, with the cloths dryer setting on the flatbed wagon. Still got some great grand daughters from those brood cows too. They started my beef cow herd.

Looking forward to hearing your opinion on the 5711. I have an 2018 one with a loader, it's a brilliant basic little tractor that can do a lot, should be ideal around the farm!

Harry has the right idea, buy the 300 series tractor, better than money in the bank and will still be going when the 8S range are dead and gone. Like to see a workshop full of masseys in bits, just like old times!!!!

Must be something in the water with all the talk/vlogs of new tractors in your area. You need to talk to Ian about getting enormous tractors through old gateways and into barns, and of course an 8s would trigger a lot of bridge rebuilding!

When you said you were at a dealers I was thinking ohh might be getting a demo of a mower for the last cut of the year but it turned out to be a lot bigger demo. And looks like Harry knows his tractors barely in the shop and found what your getting a demo of straight away in the sales pamphlet

It was good that new two wheel tractors are still made i drove massey ferguson 135,178,s and international 956,s in two wheel drive on William strip estate in the 1980s they are so agile compared to the two international 1255,s we also had on the estate but all very good tractors and not a computer insight 😀 you learnt to drive straight or get your ears warm up buy the farm manager 😀 👍 good video. My uncle bought a brand new valtra N174 everything is on it guidance steering and a front loader etc he works a McConnell 7.4 meter reach hedge cutter well i think its a 7.4 then he also works a 10 foot krone conditioner mower he use to work a front mower on the front link arms then he helps out another contractor he pulled a 2 axle tank he reckoned the valtra pulls both a single and double axle tankers better because of its power to weight ratio then his previous case 145 and works the hedge cutter and the mower better and the man he works with has 4 fendts hes on a bigger scale then my uncle but look it massey fendt and valtra are in the same group but every operator has a different opinion but i personally i like the old fastrac with the cummins engine but if i get my hands on one id probably have to overhaul the gear box but id love to tune up the engine to do more horse power and do it up with lights etc more so work lights all round the cab especially if im doin night work

They are really young to be fair. I ended up in a completely different trade to the one I thought I would go in to when I was at school. Those who know what they want in life from the beginning are I rekon quite rare. Life and luck takes things in very different ways.

Put it on the account.. Why don't ye pay as ye go.. What is it with pay later.. The company's have to pay to stock up.. So what is it with this credit.. Running bills up everywhere. And buying what people cant afford.. Don't understand this. Those tines there are about 250 plus.. Somebody somewhere has paid the piper.. I don't under stand this credit and account.. It works out alot more expensive in the long run. What happened to paying with cash r card and doing a deal. Nobody looks at prices anymore. Oh send it up to the yard...

The money he has in his pocket, is his money. The farm account is separate & other people work on the farm. So if he goes down to the shop twice a week & other people working on the farm, go down 3 times a week. Their not all going to have the farm cheque book or bank card with them, so it's easier to fix up at the end of the month .you get charged every time tap a card. Write 1 cheque at the end of the month, saves time & money. Some farmers might not have any money in their farm account & might be waiting for a cheque
