Weird I just so happen to be reading this when I pop over to check on the music I'm listening to. dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/40585720/Combined_Formspring_Web_Aug-28-2011.htm#mspadventures172829514269752139 Yes, it's too bad it didn't get used, but there's so much music there was no possible way it could all get used. That's why it's good for the albums to exist, to allow the creation of these artists to be put out there regardless of if a particular piece was used or not. I myself don't really understand the whole "shame this didn't get used" mentality when it's put onto an album for you to be able to experience. Would it be preferable the particular piece of music not exist at all? I certainly don't think so. Of course I also only got into homestuck after it was completely finished and didn't get to experience the wait for another panel (especially a flash panel) to come out with which I could speculate on the choice of music to be used. Maybe that's a shame on me, but to quote myself from this very comment: Would it be preferable new people not experience the same story even though they experience it in a different way? .... wow I'm totally arguing with an imaginary person I created based on a singular comment. My apologies. I find I have a tendency to ramble when I reply to comments on homestuck stuff these days.

PURE LOVE. :D Rose's progression into grimdarkness always struck me as a kind of disease. It was taking over the way she spoke, dressed... she seemed more and more closed off until even her Pesterchum speech bubble was black. Seeing her as a god tier was like she had been healed and could breathe again. She looked less like a snarky, dangerous witch and more like a happy little girl. That's not to say, of course, that Grimdark Rose's tentacle sequence wasn't completely badass.

a small interesting thing: the bells starting at 1:59 sound similar to the ones in a track from the pokemon anime, "1997-1998M31B" by Shinji Miyazaki. earthsea borealis's bells have a higher-pitched melody that loops back into itself, but the note progression feels really close of course it's impossible to know if it was purposeful or just a coincidence without asking toby fox, but hey, i think it's neat

I don't know much about Homestuck so I'm not sure if this was intentional or anything but I noticed more similarities the music to Kingdom Hearts other than how it sounds. In Japanese, earth is 'riku' and sea is 'kairi'. Earthsea. Also this is quite a stretch, but sky is 'sora' and the Aurora Borealis is a display of lights in the sky. It's probably just a coincidence, though

Just discovered that the drums from 0:27 onward souunds like the 'Mellow orch kit' instrument from the Squidfont Orchestral soundfont! Fun fact, this seems to be the second Rose song that has instruments that were also used in the Smash Ultimate version of MEGALOVANIA. (Though this one isn't much of a coincidence, since this song is also made by Toby Fox.) The first song in question being Derse Dreamers, which uses the Solo Violin from the EWQLSO Library. well to be fair, homestuck's music takes a lot of inspiration from other games, so it's not unlikely that whoever made this was inspired a bit by kingdom hearts, and considering how many other coincidences and references there are in homestuck that's not a bad idea, it's interesting if nothing else

Homestuck and Kingdom Hearts are fairly similar narratives, albeit the Homestuck style is a little weird. If you're interested, I suggest going through the other MS Paint Adventures first to get familiar with the style, or "watching" Homestuck on the CoLabHQ youtube page.
