You’ve captured this all so beautifully. My family and I have lived in Wisbech and the surrounding area for generations and I’ve always been fascinated by the tramway. You’ve totally nailed the essence of it. There’s not a huge amount of footage of the tramway around from it’s heyday, and today there’s very little trace of it left to revisit, so this video will really resonate with a lot of people. Absolutely incredible work, thank you, sincerely, for bringing this to life.

I was lucky to see a train on the line in 1966, loco plus 2 coal wagons and a brake van, locos used on the line were D2200, D2201, D2202 and D2203, though mainly the first 2 were used and D2203 was very rarely used, only D2203 survives today, sadly I never got the number of my sighting in 1966

Gee. England, along with Wales, is a Haven riddled with railways serviced to lots and lots of good-looking trains that came and went, huh? The steam tram trains in particular are the coolest locomotives I've seen - what with their short stature, their square wooden outlook, and their side plated covered wheels with cowcatcher plows at each end. Quite the fascinating eye-catchers.

Just shows what you can do with the right amount of time and patience. Train sims open the door to relive an era long gone or do operate equipment long gone or equipment that they'll never get to operate IRL. Good job, Nick.

The design of the J70 steam tram engine was used to create Toby the Tram Engine, in the original Railway Series Books written by Wilbert Awdry. I have the new Bachmann 00 gauge Toby and Henrietta models in my collection. Top that if you can.😂

I will be honest, digital railways don't move me the same way that model railways do. However, this has impressed me no end, I can see all the photo's you've used and replicated. I have to say I'm very impressed with your work! You have captured my love for the area and feel of East Anglia (A I lived in for 26 Years) So well that I felt I wasn't watching a Sim but a model. I am a keen O Gauge (7mm) modeller and I have found the Wisbech & Upwell Tramway, Kelvedon & Tollesbury & the Thaxted branch as key inspiration for my layout Thurstable Lane.

The Reverend W.Awdry's church was only 3.5 miles from the Wisbech tramway and he visited it frequently. The real life "Toby" was J70 68226 and it was the last J70 used on the line. Awdry created the character "Toby" after 68226 was withdrawn. "Mavis", the Drewry 0-6-0 class 04 diesel mechanical tram engine, was also based on a real Wisbech locomotive. The Drewry was capable of a top speed of 29 MPH ((or 45 MPH if a suitable coin was added to the governor). The J70 class tram engines replaced the earlier underpowered GER Y6 class 0-4-0 tram engines. The J70 class were designed specifically for the line.

As somebody who grew up near Wisbech and spent most of my bus driving career running the former route of the line, I'm very very excited to see this realised. It's a shame how there is so little of it left now, but if you know where to look, there's still the signs.

I wish I could go visit and find me a nice decent place in England to live that's close to a tramway branch line railroad. I kinda feel like if I had the incredible talent to build me a steam tram locomotive to own all for myself, I could perhaps work as a content railroader. So many things to discover out there that I want to discover, learn and experience than the shit I come across to living in America that doesn't exactly have as much to bare, other than the multiculturalisms of people from different parts of the real world that come here to live in peace, civility, and prosperous livelihood.

hmmm, some aspects of the landscape and track set-up have a North-American flavour to them. Like single track, but wide path through the landscape. English RR's had to buy each square meter of land and would not buy two lanes and lay one. The absence of embankments. Than again it might just be the cowcatcher and bogie coaches with open balconies :) I know they are authentic, but they do look out of place.
