Wow, my Father used to take us to Strasborg railroad all the time back in the 70’s & 80’s., when we live near Philadelphia. But now I live in Lancaster, Pa and pass the railroad all the time.

I recently found out about this game because my son got me back into trains but it’s amazing to see a train station replica of the strasburg railroad! I live about an hour away from there and actually took my son there for a day out with Thomas back in September!

Trainz 2019 is a vast improvement but something still seems, off. Sure lighting is better, and textures have helped but something about it all together that just looks, off. Anyway glad to see a new review, and I hope this is the start of more to come.

This isn’t the best route to look at. If you go to places like Jointed Rail, you’re able to see what you can really do with the game.

There’s just something wrong with hauling modern center-beam flatcars behind a steam locomotive... 🤔Even if it is a simulation. Of course, there’s probably a prototype somewhere. And - like any model railroad - the important thing is to have fun. 😎

William Squires The Strasburg is a real railroad. This is present day, and when I was there, the yard was packed with center beam cars.

Amazing how a train simulator company doesn't provide good USA prototype track. Instead one must depend on 3rd party track models to get tie plates and spikes instead of eurostyle clips.

If I die and go to heaven, I want to play this game. I want to have the entire internet of non-virus maps. I want all of the non-virus trains. I want to play Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019. I can't play it right now because it's 70 dollars but AS SOON as there is a sale I'm buying it, even if it just goes down to 40 dollars. I think that if I bought this game, it would envelope my life in such a positive way and to be honest, I want that for myself.

Now this looks INTERESTING! Certainly a step up from MSTS! The lighting and scenery is mouth watering. And the fact it's customizable is the key for me! A couple of questions though Nick - is the terrain adjustable like on MSTS? That may fix some of the shadow problems by the track bed if the terrain node can be notched up a fraction. Also - I didn't hear no crossing bells at the bucks? Is that because they are turned off for this route, or simply don't exist? And lastly, what of scenery animation; cars, people, industrial features? You certainly know how to make a selling video Nick, or Trainz is that good that you hardly had to do any work! LOL Happy New Year my man! 2020 is looking great already! :)

Thanks! The shadow issue cannot be fixed by adjusting the terrain. It will require N3V's attention. On both the real and virtual Strasburg Rail Road, the bells only sound while the gates are lowering. There are some good people models available on the Download Station. You could see 89 being filled with water in one shot here, and another feature I wanted to show but couldn't fit in the review was that the tenders can be filled with coal. Cargo can be picked up from one industry and delivered to another.

i love your vids man. i also love the strasburg railroad and trainz sim. so naturally ive been trying to find a link to this route somewhere. so i tried downloading the link your site sent me too. it downloaded and i installed the files onto trainz 2019. but none of the track or the ground detail showed. im wondering that if you ever read this, if you could possibly put all your strasburg cdp's on to a google drive for people to download. from my research the original link to the route download was on a website that got taken down, so the route is near impossible to find. but if you were to put all your strasburg cdp's in a folder on a google drive, it would save the route from complete deletion. it would also give people who love strasburg a chance to run the railroad themselves.
