NO GALEHEAD HUT! What are you doing???? NO thru-hikers should have to do anything for leftover food! PERIOD! They need to retrain their staffers! This is no way to treat thru-hikers! 👎🏻 You sweep floors IF AND ONLY IF you do a "Work-for-Stay." Sorry ladies to hijack your thread, but this really makes me mad. I have been section hiking and winter hiking the Whites since I was in my 20s. You ladies deserve SO MUCH BETTER than what you received! That's my honest opinion! 🤗 Love your vids! OMG....most people get grouchy when they get exhausted....the wander women get hysterically deliriously funny...you even had me doing what my daughter calls my “pee laugh”...and I bet you know why..😂😂...I seriously thought Annette was gonna pee her pants when you guys were talking about the whites....lol. That was funnier than all your Pesky skits combined..haha ......You guys impress me more every day. I think what you are doing is awesome and so inspiring to others our age to just get out there and move. I know you have inspired me. I’m back in cardiac rehab and working hard everyday ....I’m determined by next year to get back out on the lake and kayak....and I have a friend who said she has always wanted to hike the AT...so setting my sights on getting Afib and other arrhythmia problems under control or surgically corrected so I can be active like i used to...and then hopefully do a section of the AT with my friend; even if just a small section. Thanks for the inspiration ladies!!

I have also hiked to the Zealand Hut and dunked my head in at the same spot you were soaking your feet. You brought back many memories as we did that in 2008 I think while we were camping in NH. You folks showed great spirit on those tough White Mountain trails. I love all the laughter!!! The trails in the Whites are often daunting boulder climbing. Your trip is taking me back to when I hiked many of the Vermont and New Hampshire mountains. I live in Maine now, but spend most of my time on the coast where the mountains are smaller and the trails are mostly a bit smoother than the AT. Thanks for taking us all along on your adventures.

I had no idea mountain goats knew how to giggle. Absolutely hilarious and yes, climbing those rocky peaks has transitioned the wander women into goats. I've watched so many videos of thru-hikes and no one ever seems to admit that the Whites are hard. I was so happy to see you all share how difficult it really is and then to see you take them on anyway. Finally someone who makes it look real! The views here were amazing. It's such a beautiful area. The climb was rough though. You three had me laughing because you were laughing so hard. You guys crack me up! After all that hiking to look forward to some food to perk you up and there was was bread and water. That’s a riot. The Appalachian trail is so much rock scrambling. I could never do it. My knees are shot. I can barely climb stairs though I can still hike with poles if the terrain is conducive to using poles. Nothing like hiking all day and putting your feet in the stream. I’m so glad I found your channel this year. I always try to follow people in the PCT every year cuz that’s the trail I know best cuz of living snd hiking on the west coast my whole life( OR, WA, CA in that time order ) been enjoying your past posts on the CDT and now the AT

I think the altitude got to you at Garfield shelter or maybe it was the heat ? Either way you guys are having a good time hiking in NH (my home state) and this is part of the trip that you will remember with fond memories if you make it out alive !! It's wonderful to see you laughing so hard in spite of the tough terrain. I did all those peaks years ago when young and know it will be much tougher now. When I did Franconia ridge, there was 3 feet of snow on top. We stayed at Galehead Hut as a family when the kids were young. Lynn, be careful on those ladders 😅.

I don’t understand why you had to sweep the floors at Galehead Hut for the leftover oatmeal and bread. You are the first in 3 years mentioning having to work for it. Usually the leftovers are set out, free for any hikers coming by. Great couple of days Ladies!

Thrifty Endurance Correct. I’m mystified. I wouldn’t have done it I don’t think and just purchased as most of the huts have items to purchase for food. Let alone, if you paid the $10 for a previous camping site you get free coupons at the next huts for the various food items they offer. Maybe it was a trade-off so to speak?

What happened to the Wander Women is ridiculous and I will be calling the AMC tomorrow! I am really pissed! Excuse my language. If they changed some policy, they need to be consistent. I know the Huts have new staffers, but at least train them. Ok off my soap box. 🌺
