In this episode of ‘Political Kisse’ of ‘The Lallantop’, the Editor Saurabh Dwivedi talks about Jaswant Singh Jasol of Barmer District of Rajasthan. Jaswant Singh Jasol was one of the founding members of the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and also, one of the longest-serving parliamentarians for more than 30 years including both the houses of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Jaswant Singh was elected on a BJP ticket to the Lok Sabha four times and to the Rajya Sabha five times.
Apart from this, Jaswant Singh also served as a cabinet minister during Atal Bihari’s government and retired as an officer of the Indian Army. During the Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s administration from 1998 to 2004, Jaswant Singh Jasol worked for the cabinet portfolios of Finance, External Affairs, and Defence. Even, Jaswant also served as the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission from 1998 to 1999.
