Dandavate Saab is the pioneer of Konkan Railway,almost an impossible feat in the rough terrain of Konkan.I had the privilege of meeting him many times as my father too is a socialist. Dandavate Saab was a fiery orator,great Parliamentarian,very honest leader and epitome of simplicity. Seldom we find leader of his stature. All Konkanis feel proud that he represented us in the Parliament. Prof.Dandavate a very respectable politician.He was professor of Physics in Sidhharth Collge for some time long back.His brother ws a professor of electrical engg in VJTI in or about 1967.When he was imprisoned in emergency he be befriended many RSS and Jansangh leaders though he was a socialist.Such honest and disciplined unselfish politician very difficult to find.Advo Ram Gogte Vandre Mumbai51.
