Appreciate y'all telling the truth. I watched the aftv player ratings, I thought I was watching a different game they were gassing them all up and afraid to criticize anyone. System football as Matty says is spot on. I'll go a step further, there are systems where you still can get the most out of your attacking players, but Marti Saka and the rest of the forward line are all stifled. Neither full back goes past the half way line either. I don't want to hear the Champions league is cagey excuse, Celtic scored 5 two days ago. Play with intent and aim to actually score as opposed to the current tactic of how many backward passes can be completed in a 90minute stretch, they might be better off. The last time Arsenal created a decent chance in open play was before the international break!!

Hubris and stubbornness. As a City fan, I deal with the same thing with Pep sometimes. Playing vs a low block with a great defense whwre Haaland is marked out of the game, the only way Haaland can do anything is break the lines before the defense resets. Makes sense right? Well Pep’s slow buildup play nullifies those opportunities as it allows the opposition defense and team for that matter to reset thereby sucking out all space in the box. Real Madrid did it first last season then Arsenal and now Inter. In every game, when Haaland was marked out by the opposition defense, he got himself space by breaking the lines but our players ignored him OR passed backwards to slow everything down. The players are terrified of losing the ball (except KDB Gundo and maybe Doku) and so they won’t capitalize on Haaland in space bc they could lose the ball and Pep hates that more than anything. So Pep needs to adapt a little or we’re dropping points to every great defensive team who can set a low block and doesn’t lose focus like most other teams who play that do and we eventually break down and beat. We’ve dropped to every team that fits that description, and if you play like you did last season and Pep doesn’t adapt, you’re getting a draw at a minimum

Toward the end of last season and the Champions League last year and now every game this season we offer zero on attack !! The goal versus Brighton was because Dunk made an error on defense after Raya punted it the length of the pitch a set piece goal versus Spurs and let's be completely honest Villa should have beaten us by three or four goals. Raya once again made unbelievable saves and Watkins missed two or three sitters. Unless Arteta changes something I really can't see us getting enough goals to win anything if we can't create very little if nothing against Atalanta what the hell's going to happen when we play Bayern Real Inter City etc etc. I can't see us winning the Champions League or the league playing like this. maybe a lucky Cup run but that's about it. what happened to the squashbuckling Arsenal scoring goals for fun? I haven't seen that for over a year now. in the run-in last season we went Uber defensive and it's like we can't change our game plan from that. I'm really worried about this season
