Eddie, this was a real passionate piece of journalism. Amanda Staveley did have a massive role in getting the PIF deal over the line and for that she will be remembered favourably. But there is a massive examination of Football club finances these days and any impropriety such as failing to repay loans was always going to be dealt with severley by a court. I dare say AS had to sell her remaining shares to either pay off her debts or to voluntarily distance herself from the club so as not to bring it into disrepute. Hopefully, the club will move on and concentrate on its objectives of regular top 4 finishes with European Champs league football. Keep up the good work on all things Tyneside.

Hi mate, thank you and thanks for the question. No I don’t use an autocue. I find with my autism that I can’t just talk off the top of my head for minutes on end, my brain freezes quite quickly and I have to take a moment to reset it. I do plan and structure my videos and break them up into smaller component parts. I can then (roughly) rehearse the bit I want to say in smaller chunks. Sometimes I make bullet points on my phone, or take a minute between each segment to think about my next part. So, almost everything I say has been carefully considered and nuanced to make sure I articulate the point I want to make in as balanced way as I can. Hope that makes sense 👍🏻

Very weird you defend her so much. She consistently borrows money, she consistently doesn’t pay it back, she consistently loses court cases as a result. She’s best off out of Newcastle United. You seem to have a short term memory of how well the Ashley era started and him sitting with fans and being hailed as the messiah. They’re more alike than you realise and Newcastle is better off without her
@TynesideLifeАй бұрын
Those who follow my channel understand my stance on this. You’ve obviously just landed here and it’s quite clear you’re unaware of what she has and hasn’t done in terms of loans. I’ll come back to this. AS clearly deserves the accolades for ‘saving’ our club and breathing life into it. She’s gave us hope and put the soul back into it. I’ll forever be grateful for this due to her clear emotional investment in the club. On the other hand, I’ve voiced a few times her cavalier style in business terms. I see her as an opportunist, a risk taker and a hustler. In this very video I outlined her propensity to get into business difficulties and I level criticism for this. It’s this side of her that has cost her position with the club, which has temporarily destabilised it. Did you skip past this part? In regards her loans, you claim she ‘consistently’ doesn’t pay back business loans and ‘consistently’ loses court cases because of this. This is factually incorrect. It is only her latest case with Victor Restis that she hasn’t paid back a loan, but she disputed the terms of that loan with Restis, but of course she lost. Mike Ashley took her to court due to her breaching the terms and conditions, not because she wasn’t paying it back. There is no pattern, as you claim. I have a short memory over nothing Jim, but I do know I know far more and have a better understanding on this matter than yourself, based on your comment.

From what I can remember Newcastle West collapsed financially, East bought them (including St James's, Wests land and their staff). Was a number of club names thought about like City and Rangers as far as I can remember reading, but they just happened to decide on United. As a matter of fact Wests colours have been used as an away kits colours many times (was the 1st kit I owned of the club as well, got both the home and away full kits, the away kits colours I am talking about (Wests) was dark/navy blue and kind of a deep darkened red).
@TynesideLife2 ай бұрын
Partially right Jeremy (Source: Paul Joannou - club historian). West End did financially collapse and East End moved to St James’ Park when they vacated in mid 1892. This land belongs to the Freemen of Newcastle and NCC(previously Newcastle Corporation) and still does today. East End salvaged some of their staff (about 5). East End already had away colours and that’s the first I’ve read about using West End kit? East End eventually decided to change name to United in Dec 1892 in an attempt to appease the West End population of Newcastle. The name wasn’t officially established by the league until 1895. So, Newcastle United were formed in 1881 as Stanley FC, who changed their name to Newcastle East End, who then moved to St James Park and then changed their name to United. 1882 is not the clubs foundation year. It’s the year of a name change and second ground change. I’ve done a dedicated video about the foundation story and you can find it on my channel 👍🏻

Staveley simply an opportunist. Better off without her long term, but we thank her for brokering the PIF deal.

@@iainchiz17 hope your comment not directed at me. Supported the Toon since 1971! Previous season ticket holder. Travelled to Europe etc etc!!! Supported them through thin & thin!!!!

I seen her st the newcastle womens final match of the season. Shes a lush lass and even went around for photos with the fans. She was a spark for everyone and definitely cleared the skies of the ashley reign. We would all welcome her back eith open arms.

Amanda Staveley still did a bang up job for the club. I hope she sorts her shit out and does it all again.

I hooked in too. I was in I was invested. Sad for Amanda Stavely. I hope our club moves on to more happy days.
