Well, if you're asking.... I'm more interested in assembly for the Atari 8-bit. Doing videos on the ST will just make me want to buy one of those to keep up!

Yeah cool project, enjoying it. I got the 1040ST FM because of the 1 Meg of RAM, but a mate had an ST before me and it was the 520, yes it was a more sleek machine without the built-in drive and power supply.

I have a 520 St that my friend Rick has been helping me repair the xSF354 drive I got with it, it was completely not working, he has helped me so much ✌️ he got it up and working for me, he basically had to become a 354 expert in the process 😂🙏 I'm so thankful for him

Nice work! After you get done tinkering with the chips and such, I'd like you see things like the terminal emulators, and Stevie, the VI editor for ST, STOS-BASIC. I wonder if Atari could have survived longer had they focused on creating an open source community, and selling things like Compilers, Emulators, and new Non-Graphical operating systems for the ST and XE. It would be great to have someone focus on things other than games and GEMS

I finally got a chance to watch this, and yes, I did enjoy it. It's neat to be able to watch you do this stuff, because we don't have the chance to get the hands on experience. Thanks! 1) The ST stuff is interesting to me, but not nearly as much as 400/800 stuff. 2) I really appreciate any programming expertise and experience that you can offer. I tried programming on the emulator on Linux, and I'm unclear on how to set up an Assembly programming environment. I'd appreciate being able to get something set up that allows me to follow along with the old books. 3) Perhaps you could show us some neat old games from magazines, and then show us how you debugged them, and sped them up. I'm also thinking of a trignomic program that showed us the graph line in graphics 8. It has nice smooth curves, but in 1 instance, it displayed a straight line at a certain point in the graph, which seems to be a bug. 4) What strategies can we use to create the simplest driving game? I read an article, but it was too hard for me implement. 5) Tips on programming the simplest flight simulator? I'm out of my league here, but it would be interesting to learn. 6) Maybe have a Q&A at the beginning or end of your video. 6.a) Q: I'm thinking of programming a Mastermind clone [i.e.: Cows & Bulls], so would it be clever to use different graphics modes to zoom in and out of certain areas? 6.b) Q: For a custom character, I tried using a space in memory that had a value that changed often, hoping that the changes would make the character look active and awesome. I hoped that it might look like a glowing object, or a flickering flame. I couldn't get it to work. Do you know how to do this? 6.c) Q: For the next video, would you delve into the topic of what kinds of plastics can be used for power supplies? What thicknesses must there be for safety? I can't imagine paper thin plastic being good enough. 7) I suggest that you record yourself doing any Atari stuff that isn't private. If you decide that you want to post a video about the topic, then you'l be 1/8 of the way there. 8) At the end of the video, maybe ask a question that you are working on. Hopefully, there will be an expert in the audience. By the way, the sound and video quality in this video worked well for me.

You can do 640x400 on any VGA monitor with a simple Atari-VGA adapter. The colour resolution require old 15KHz TV resolutions but the monochrome High res can be displayed on normal 31KHz VGA monitors (LCD). Your Panasonic LCD on your desk can probably display the 640x400 without issues.

When you buy the eeproms and make the next video about TOS upgrade, please identify what & where you bought the eeproms. Also, the model number of the eeprom flasher would be of great interest, too, as well as the software that may be necessary. Thanks much!

Would love to see u review the 8 bit gui someone coded for the 128k 130xe. I'm not sure if it was ever completed or just a demo but it looked pretty good!

@@8bitandmore tried replying with links twice but each time they got deleted for some reason.. you'll have to search for atari 8 bit gui.. the guy who coded has alot of cool projects for the 8 bits.. even fat 32 compatibility. Pretty impressive! I thinks it's been abandoned the gui but a programmer like you could possible pick up on this! Now that would be amazing!
