Atari Single Player USB Fight Stick - Review and Test - Joystick, Trackball, Spinner

I bought one of these Atari controllers because it is one of few controllers that includes both a spinner and trackball. It works well. Also, you are correct about the Arcade1up spinners being horrible. Its not a spinner, it is a "knob". It does not spin, and barely turns. I immediately replaced it.

Thanks for the review. I was appalled there weren't options for trackball and spinner arcade controllers. If they made the stick able to shift between 4-axis to 8-axis that would make it the ultimate arcade controller (for the casual single player enjoyer).

Loved the review and I would love to get this but can’t find it even at the store you mentioned. At least not from what I saw online I’m all the way in California and that store is nowhere near here. Does this have a more specific model number to try to help me find one? If you could let me know I would greatly appreciate it.

Microcenter’s website shows only one in stock at my store. And I don’t see any listed on eBay. I’m guessing they didn’t make a whole lot of them? If you’re in California, I would just save some search terms in Marketplace or Craigslist and hope to find someone who paid full price and wants to get rid of it. Good luck! And thanks for watching.

I had to buy it at the store. I don’t think it ever shows up as a shippable item unfortunately.

Are the buttons specifically PC gamepad buttons when spinning the spinner? Or are they mouse buttons?

I don't a micro center near... I bought the atari fight stick with track ball from Amazon but Amazon doesn't sell theses....

Atari also makes a spinner that fits in a button hole. Might be a decent way of adding a spinner if you can find one? Thanks for watching!

I still see them at my local MicroCenter, but I wish they were more widely available. MicroCenter must have a deal with “Atari”, since they have several products there that I don’t see anywhere else.

Not easily. But if you’re using MAME, you could assign the “shoot” stick to four of the buttons and move with the joystick. Thanks for watching.

Looks like the spinner is meant more for Arkanoid-type games than Tempest.

Possibly. But I’m sure you could adjust the sensitivity settings in MAME to make it dialed in (pun intended)
