In this series we will explore and count down the top 50 scrolling #actionplatformer games on the #atari ST that use guns as their primary weapon. These are many times called #runandgun games. If a game contains no platforms other than the ground, we are still going to consider it for this list. Some of these games might also contain other types of game play on levels and possibly some non-gun fighting but for the most part we have separated the Elvira the Arcade game style fantasy magic platform shooters and the Dark Man style platform beat-em ups to their own individual series, and in this way we can cover many more games and explore the breadth of the #atarist library.
In Part 2 we are going to cover games that scored in the 40 to 31 range in the top 50.

Beverley Hills Cop is such a weird game! Still, it’s probably my favourite on this list. Did you know that the next level is a driving game? Then an overhead run ‘n’ gun? I’d like to give Gremlins a go, that looks cool. Thanks again for the cool video!

Yeah, it's a strange collection. I think there is a very good 3D shooter in there too...if I recall correctly.

Keep it up Jeff. Wonderful series. My pick from this part of the countdown is Alien Storm. Completed it multiple times in 2 player simultaneous mode using a trainer 😂 just lots of blasting fun back in the days. Have to admit I do have a soft spot for Beverly Hills Cop. I just think the game looks good...

The game Rocket Racer appears to be a clone of Rocket Roger, a 1984 C64 game from Alligata Software.
