It's cool that you have it some defense. Traditionally, Ataru is known for having no defense whatsoever. A typical form 4 user will retreat if their initial volley of attacks fails, so it was cool to see a different take

I don't think Ataru is supposed to have no defense, just far less than other forms.

they all train form 1 through 5 to an intermediate level as younglings and padawans. If the situation calls for a block, the jedi isn't just gonna be like "no! this form means i have to do a backflip and reset"

Form IV: the goal is ending the fight as fast as possible. This form is about using speed, and acrobatics to aggressively slip through the opponents defense (hence why it’s called “the aggression form”). You actually don’t need to use acrobatics in this form but if we’re all being honest it’s the best way to use this form! Every time yoda pulls out his lightsaber he’s shown us how effective this form is for a seasoned practitioner, mentioning yoda in the video was a cool thing! And having transcend saber in this tutorial was ingenious!

Just so you know, two blades is different than form seven. It is known as jar-kai while form seven is vaapad or juyo

Ataru is by far one of my favorite lightsaber forms as well as Soresu because I'm a experienced parkour athlete. Training with Ataru is great for my dexterity and acrobatic movements, but it is also awesome workout for my endurance. This is one of the videos that I really enjoy, because it suits my personality as a lightsaber user and also because it helped me learning new movements and choreographic creativity. I love trying to match real world martial arts/sword styles to the 7 forms. Form 4 always reminded me of a blend between Wushu, Capoeira, and Parkour it’s my favorite form to observe.

I have been watching your videos lately to learn these skills. I am training my young sister also so I can actually fight someone. Because my oldest brother likes star wars but doesn't care about learning the skills, my 2nd oldest brother dose not even give care about star wars at all, and my 2nd youngest brother likes star wars but he doesn't care about learning the skills just like my oldest brother.
