The character of Kylo Ren has been my favorite ever since he walked out of his ship in TFA. And when he took his helmet off, I was like rey, confused. I admit it, I was like "What the hell?". And when I learned he was Han and Leia's son, I was gone. I wanted more. I needed more. And finally, after 5 years, we are getting his story. And to be honest, with the stupid way they handled his deatu in TROS, I was afraid that they would also just... kill his back story. But it is amazing so far. Really amazing. With what we learned in TFA and TLJ books, with the Snokes comics, and this series... They are doing his character justice

Chapter 3 of The Rise Of Kylo Ren is out and ITS GOOD. I wish it was a bit longer but either way this was yet again a solid entry. Also, Ben Solo in that outfit at the end is a 10/10. GIVE US A SHOW YOU COWARDS! -ATAT

Ugh I loved his new outfit but this comic made me so sad!! Ben’s still innocent but very confused and conflicted and doesn’t know where to turn, it doesn’t help that Voe,Tai and hennicks pursue him and Voe claims that Ben’s a murderer when he isn’t ( I know none of them know that Luke is alive at this point) but for her to outright say that i think in her mind she was finally better than Ben and that made her arrogant and foolish very un-Jedi like. Ben’s emotions are unstable and if he could control his anger better he would’ve never fallen for snoke’s plan. He thinks he murdered his friends but thats not the case he saved Voe after a fit of anger made him push her off a cliff or at least gently put her down where she wont get hurt if it wasn’t for hennicks intervening thinking he killed her then I think Ben could’ve pulled her back up to where she was originally, and Ben deflecting the lightsaber was sooo cool and he didn’t intend the lightsaber to wound hennicks is was just to get it away from him in self preservation. Honestly they pushed Ben too much which is making him more angry and like a caged animal which will do nothing good for any of them. It is super short but oh well we got to see a young ben solo!!!! I really wish ben solo lived i know thats not going to change for now (maybe in the future) but still he’s a great character and has a lot going for him!!

Also i think that Tai and Ben could’ve been really good friends but since Ben’s feeling like an outcast kept up a wall against Tai and everyone else and i wish we could’ve seen more interactions between the two

I am loving this comic series, and don't really want it to end so soon. Ben's outfit was very Solo-esque to me as well and it looked really cool. I also appreciated the callback to the scene in TROS where Rey passes the lightsaber to Ben and we see Ben wield it from behind his back...and his new outfit shows that he kept his lightsaber at his back, and thus was used to reaching behind him to draw his saber. Just a nice little easter egg thing I noticed in this comic. :) I agree, I think that Ben will end up having to kill Ren in order to be the Master of the Knights of Ren, but also will most likely have to kill Tai since he seems closer to him than the others--and thus would be the "good death" requirement he'd need to make in order to officially join the KOR. I'm excited to see what happens next, and yes, hopefully it will be a longer one.

it's interesting how the knights (and snoke) are pretty hedonistic and indulgent yet ben still chooses to form such an austere, ascetic persona. it fits with his lifelong inability to fit in anywhere i guess, but it's just so depressing. my poor sad melodramatic boy ;~;

Excellent synopsis! I agree that this issue was too short. And I think it continues to show Ben’s actions as primarily defensive in nature.His reflection on Tai in the past shows that he doubts his own innate goodness. But consider how long Snoke has been whispering things to him by then. And I guess I never really understood that he was only 10 years old when his parents sent him to Luke. I had thought he was more of a teen at that point. It just makes me feel even sadder for Ben. I know we will get some deliberate deaths in the final issue. But I can’t see Hennick’s as anything more than self-defense. What else could he have done in that moment. As my favorite Star Wars character, I do want to know everything they will tell me about Ben Solo. But I also continue to question the point of his tragedy. If Star Wars, at its very core, is intended to teach young people important life lessons as they transition to adulthood, and at least under Lucas I believe that was the intent, then I fail to understand what the lesson of Ben’s tragic life is.

I’m LOVING your videos on these comics. I’ve been interested in reading them and now you’ve got me dying to do so. I’ve never dipped into any Star Wars EU before, and I’ve only started getting into comics in the last couple of years, and these look incredible. I’m blown away by the artwork and the story. I completely agree that Ben/Kylo is the most compelling character of the new movie trilogy, maybe since the original trilogy, and the connection and relationship between him and Rey is the heart of it. His sense of himself and who he is is so fragile, and it looks like these comics give us the misunderstandings, misinformation, and moments where “if only X had happened differently” or “if only another choice had been made” that make Ben’s fall a true tragedy. I’m a sucker for this stuff and can’t wait to get my hands on these comics. And you’re so right about that black outfit he’s in at the end of issue 3 - very Han Solo. And as we saw in TROS, he truly is his father’s son. Thank you for these awesome videos!!

Do you think they should bring Ben Solo back to life? Do you think it would be best if we saw him as a Force Ghost? I think it would be really cool if they made video game all about The Knights of Ren, Jedi: Fallen Order style. Where you could choose to play as any Knight you wanted for a mission. The story starting off from their origins, to their defeat on Exegol. Maybe all but one Knight survives, and we follow the story from that Knight's point of view after the Battle of Exegol.

So this is kind of off topic, but I couldn't help but notice that Mike Zeroh has made a lot of videos after TROS came out about Rey and Ben's story being continued, and that Ben will be brought back in some different medium. Of course, I take anything he says with at least a pound of salt, and he keeps changing saying that it will be in an animated series, in a live action, etc. But I'm wondering if, since he's made so many posts about Ben's resurrection in some form, and still is, if there is at least a grain of truth to it. Just want to know what everyone else thinks.

This comics are too short. One issue left and we have to know how ben became obsessed with vader, we have really not seen that he cares at all about him. May be we would never know the reactions of Luke, leia and Han after the incident. Ren would be killed in next issue and how he became leader? How he also decided being in the first order, joining knights of Ren and Snoke not necesarily shows his motivatios to be in FO. I really wanted to know how was Ben before the incident, like in the academy, his relationship with Luke, his personality, and may be 1 issue is not enough to show what he did after becoming kylo ren and before TFA, in Tfa is too much dark compared to Ben in this threes issues, 1 issue is not enough to show that change.
