Some people don't know the true essence of what house music really is... It's not just about steps... Or new steps.. Or step combinations that are practiced over and over again..... One dimensional minds posting negative comments about Ejoe or thinking that Atazahan won simply have no clue.... House music is about love and conversations on the dance floor.. It's about LISTENING TO THE MUSIC AND VOCALS.. IT'S ABOUT MUSICALITY.... Atazahan was great... But Ejoe has all the elements of house covered , inside and out.... Anybody who can't see that need to study up on what house really is and learn the history of it....

chenzointhamix right .all the frantic moves and steps mean nothing if they dont make sense. Like someone with a huge or limited vocabularly incessantly speaking but making no sense. Nothing new under the sun. Bboys and House dancers approach to music is different and the way these new folks are once again commenting on House dance is just reminiscent of the same convos in the early to mid 80's when the house clubs were being bombarded with the bboys and hip hop dancers.
@N3THof2096 жыл бұрын
@@chenzointhamix if you want to dance, feel the music, then go do that at a club that plays house music. This is a competition apparently. At these types of events, its all about what the judges are looking for and of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but what matters the most in this case is the judge's opinion.

When Ejoe battles, he never dances like he's trying to win, he dances like he's just having fun at a club dancing in a circle while the other dancer is pulling out all their moves trying to win. If you've seen other Ejoe videos, you see a lot of moves he does that you didn't see in this battle. I don't think he cares if he wins or loses, he's just having fun. He also has nothing to prove anymore, he already put his footprint on this whole house dance scene before some of these dancers were even born.

Ejoe back in the days was so explosive and creative it was insane. Now as dancer we have to care of our bodies and joints so we can enjoy dancing for as long as possible . Ejoe is doing the right thing for his body by going with flow. But if this was Ejoe 20 years ago we would have seen an acrobatic genius on the floor.
@mikep035 жыл бұрын
Ejoe didn't do much but in my opinion what he did showed more structure.I clearly understand that people have a personal opinion on this dance but I think what dictates any dancer is capturing the moment with precise movement that flows with the music.Atazhan has potential but I dont think he reached his peak yet??I think the judges didn't like the forced movement??He is not smooth like many dancers but when he finds his lane he will be a problem.I am not saying he has to be like Ejoe,I am saying he needs to flow with the music alittle more gracefully.

EJOE said it.... COME ON MAN... how Atazhan beat Sonya leaves me dumbfounded ... he was all over the place and none of his moves even when he battled Kwame were tuned with the music.. just power moves and high energy difficult moves to wow the crows... when the crowd gets swayed by those moves and gets impressed it puts pressure on the competition to wow the crowd in order to win which is what happened to Sonya and Kwame... EJOE taught the crowd and Atazhan that this is house.. not bboy dancing.. when the dj slowed the tempo and music notes you could easily tell Atazhan had no idea how to house dance and kept doing practiced moves that went in no way with the music.. and he looked lost and out of his element.. that's why EJOE said... come on man.. Thank you EJOE for reminding people house is a feeling, its spiritual... that's why you're the greatest.. Love you EJOE

I partially agree with you. I think Athazan has an amazing talent, a huge vocabulary and I feel like he actually can listen to the music.... the guy seriously needs to relax though, needs to stop trying to impress, stop packing as many moves as possible in each round. I feel like if he takes a step back and stops thinking every battle is for his life, he might be great. Yes, he has bboy moves and attitude but I don't think that is bad if he learns how to tune in... look at all the dancers bringing jazz, contemporary and modern dance to the table who still flow and make it house... I think Athazan can do the same at some point in the future

A message to Ejoe Wilson, Shan S, Caleef, and others that are within my generation of house, which is early 90's when the relevance of house was and STILL stands that House is a state of mind. When you enjoy House, not as a contest where you win or lose simply because YOU ARE HOUSE!!!!!! I caught a saying today that will stand the test of time like the ones that I just named as well as myself and my love of House: "What is in me, can't NO man take from me!!!!!" I thank you for being living proof of that. I thank you for proving because of your love of house, you haven't become obsolete only becoming perfect like finely aged wine. I appreciate your commitment, your talents, and most of YOU!!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!!!!! All of you!!!!!

Ejoe should never have won this. Sure he's a legend in the game and has musicality, culture on so on ; but what ppl are advocating are that we vote for dancers who have been there since the beginning and we should aspire to dance something like them. So anyone who is at the forefront of moving the dance form on like Atazhan, , Mamson, Perla, Toyin,Washinton...etc forget that they bring new moves which are technical and rhythmical because Ejoe don't do it, so it can't be right. I remember Ejoe was trying to bring some kung-fu , ape like flavour to the dance which is fine but things move on and frankly no one cared to replicate it. Sure it was original and so were the moves created by somewhat younger dancers coming through when he went his own way. if this this Summerdance is a legends in the game battle lets call it that and get the pioneers to battle it out; i'd watch it cos Brian Green still has it for me. Just sayin!!
