I currently have my third dog. I never got paw prints or kept mementos from my two other childhood dogs, just their collars and leashes. There was limited internet back then, no cellphone cameras. Couldn’t order paw print makers or memory books. With my current dog, I’m creating memory books, paw print art and documenting our adventures. Dogs are with us for only a short amount of time. We have to enjoy everyday together.

Thanks for posting! I am letting my fur baby go today and was wanting to get a print before hand (I already have a clay print) but will do this instead so as not to stress her out. 14 great years with Ayla the feline.

@@lich2686 there is no time frame for getting over the loss. I made a memorial shadow box with pictures, her paw prints I made after she passed, food mat, and some small toys she played with. Let yourself grieve.

My sister's dog passed abruptly this morning. She's in a different state and could be here in his last day (medical issues but this was not expected) Thank you for the video. I'll be taking his prints today before his burial to give to her. I feel bad that he'll have ink on his pretty nose and feets but I also know that dog would have gone through anything for my sister

We do this after most euthanasias. We have an ink pad that we press the paw on after we clip nails and shave. We’ve never had a problem doing this until one client, who was an extreme covid freak and germaphobe, (just a weird person in general) flipped out and called us inhumane. She went crazy saying “You do that when they’re dead!?” No we do it when they’re alive in the room in front of you because a paw print is more important than keeping your pet comfortable during its last moments. If anything you want to do it when they’re dead so they don’t feel anything or remember their nails getting cut and paw shaved, because cutting nails can be traumatic for many. Let’s just say we sent her a letter about her concern and said she’d be served better elsewhere

I am so crying right now. The vet that I took my dog to did not do this and when I inquired about doing it, they said they couldn't. This was 3 years ago and I still regret not having such a remembrance.

My kitty passed away a month ago from now and i just received his clay paw prints it hurts cause i knew him since he was born and thats from 10 years ago so now it feels empty but i was looking into getting kittens and i just need to wait for a bit cause im in the final stages of adopting the 2 little guys and i feel more happy to get to be welcomed home again after over a month of not getting welcomed home from my kitten (hes wasn't a kitten but he acted like one🤣) and for all vets that read this im sorry if you ever had to put a pet down and i hope that you are doing ok and i thank you for caring and loving all the pets that you have ever seen it means the world for people to have good vets like you that are not mostly innit fir the money but for the love of animals

Hello is it water colour paper your using please. I'm about to get paw prints from my much loved golden retriever and pets as therapy dog rxtrodinary he worked all day picking up sadness in the street park church wherever hospice and dementia care pets he was so special as all pets are and I really want to get his paw prints right. I need to know soon please. My emotions are running high so you could have said and I didn't hear but I need to order the paper now to get it in time before it's too late and his body has gone🙏🏻
