ATEEZ(에이티즈) - ‘Guerrilla’ MV REACTION

Who else gives me chills like them nowadays?! Forget about the song and the incredible talent/skill set that ATEEZ have for a second and let's focus on the immense responsibility they're taking on right now to share such message? I'm sure they did not plan to come back in a time where their words would ring so true to reality but the timing here hits quite close to home now doesn't it. And while it is true that such message is timeless, this comeback's deeper meaning is super contemporary.
I absolutely adore how ATEEZ are not afraid to make music about morals and society and systems that rule our society. I love how they are triggering our thoughts and behaviours, our logic and our actions. Like in the MV, even if the message reaches only one person, it is already one person less that is being brain washed! Step by step, little by little. This is simply brilliant and terrific at the same time.
The way the concept has been built and presented to the audience was also done in a masterful way. The MV is definitely a big piece to digest but without it, the impact wouldn't be the same. So big props to the realisation team for that.
Now the song, like I said in the video, I don't think I could fully appreciate it on a first watch like this because the MV took a big chunk of my concentration. And so it was hard for me to say whether I liked the song or not. It did grow on me but it is not my favorite to be frank and it's okay; it would be unfair of me to expect them to always put out something that ticks every one of my boxes every time.
This comeback, I am more impressed and extremely proud of the intended message that they're bringing forward and am grateful for them to be doing such important concept in such a graceful way.

the fact that this was their most outrageous project with the experimental metal rock screamo elements and the "system is broken, wake up and fight!" message, and is to date their most successful comeback is a testimony to their continued resolve to stick to their own sound and not conform to the current kpop climate of trendy dancing and easy-to-listen song structure. ateez decided to continue going even left and they have reaped the rewards. there is no other group that could have pulled this off like them

I used to wonder why ATEEZ became my ultimate favorite group after a year or two had passed after BAP's disbandment and I came to realize, it's this. Their message, they're unafraid to be genuinely open about situations that are happening right now. Although very different and hardly even the same but it's really nostalgic and refreshing to see a group in this day and age that's so unafraid to be truthful and relatable on so many different levels.

B.A.P. was my original favorite group as well. This album by Ateez is more of a rock album than previous ones. B.A.P. also had a rock vibe. In that way they are similar. Other than that, they don't remind me of each other. But I absolutely LOVE the rock influence of this album. My 2 favorite genres are Kpop and Metal so I feel like I'm kinda getting some of both with this. I love the entire album so much.

Ateez has made history in my likings because I’ve never actually liked every single song on an album before. I mean sure I liked a lot of like BP’s songs, but never the whole album. For this album I like all the songs, and it’s the first time that I have ever liked a b-side more than the title track! Sector 1 is my thing, I love Guerrilla too, but I just love Sector 1 more. But yeah, so that’s impressive! Also I’m so happy for them, they really are music kings!

The thing is that this MV is HEAVILY Connected to their stage in Kingdom (Rhythm Tha) as Hongjoong said in shorteview. They are in a different world where music, art and emotion are forbidden by the govermment and they are in a moment (movement) that they can achieve freedom if they try (as HJ also said in his part in Rhythm Tha before the plane comes but can we tell that they was making the way to this a year before? Honestly the music sank in me right after the mingi part. For me I was really a fan of screamo and this grabbed my atention right after the teasers, when I heard, I was soooo shocked and yes... I'm like you falling even harder for them.

I know I've said it before but I'm so appreciative that you also see the BAP similarity. I genuinely feel like if BAP had the chance to succeed, they would continue to make content that pushes boundaries, Ribbon in the Sky and What the Hell being two of my favorite go tos in regard to this. While I know ATEEZ have producers behind them who are a big part of making the music, I feel like ATEEZ are proud to share their message of this song and comeback as a whole. I don't know how to explain it, but I feel the expression of "BAP walked so Ateez could run" truly fits it the best way possible. Babytiny here...yes! The similarities are there and it's probably why I gravitate to Ateez as much as I do. There is a lot going on with this album especially when you think about how far in advance they teased a lot of this album. Also, not sure if it was confirmed, but Ateez could have been called New World. The fact that New World is a track is kind of like they're coming full circle.

Even i, Ateez is my ult group and they have unmatched discography in my opinion, but when i first heard Guerrilla(Performance previe) I wasn’t sure if i liked it, I played it couple times and it grow on me. The nu-metal vibes take me right back to my linkin park stan days, i'm just absolutely obsessed with this song! Fun Fact: This comeback is based on the GEORGE ORWELL novel 1984...about a futureworld "utopian" society that is Bent on keeping people in line because they assume that following a set standard of rules across the board as a society is the key to preventing disharmony in their universe...so the more people would be allowed to think for themselves "BIG BROTHER" thinks would lead to independence in a way that would create totalitotal societal chaos...Think of NORTH KOREA for example... In the novel 1984 (and the movie that came out in 1985) there is a band of people who question why their personalities and feelings, hopes and dreams as people, as individuals is completely stifled to the point that they feel like soulless robots and see the "Utopian world" around them as a vast, emotional wasteland for so many people and they vow together to find a way out of this oppression at all cost, together and find a place where they and the "perfect world" around them can finally be themselves and finally feel human again as individuals!... If you have seen Star Trek The Next Generation and remember THE BORG (an alien race whole all are "programmed" as a society to have the same thoughts and actions to create their world of "peace and order")...they end up becoming mindless zombies that just "follow the leader", no questions asked or you will be eliminated... As with 1984...This band of people start to question that "at what cost to a human soul does blindly doing things just because you are told truly mean?"... "Is loosing who we truly are really worth it? Does trying to be "perfect and free from harm" truly solve all of the world problems?!"... We shall see what ATEEZ have to say as their story progresses...I'm excited to see! 😎😎😎
