This song, MV, and new album is a spin off of their main storyline of pirates trying to getting a hold of an hourglass (in their story it's called a cromer). But they are not the only ones, there are others we have called "the white giants." HALA HALA was one of their first songs, it's an acronym, standing for Heart Awaken, Live Alive. And when they did the video for the song they introduced their alter egos HALATEEZ. In their world they are currently stuck between the present and the future. Their last comeback called "Guerilla" was the start of this part of the storyline. The orb in the sky they try to bring down is their "moon" or "the eye in the sky." And one of them, San sacrifices himself to save the others, but they needed witnesses, that is who u see at the end, them and "a blue bird" passing above them. Their last song on their current album is called "Outro:Bluebird." There is so much more to this storyline. Even their captain (Their leader) Hongjoong has said they haven't even reached a 1/3 of the storyline. Your best bet is to look up a break down of the storyline, several ATINY have made pages as well as I guess u can call them mini documentaries in regards to the storyline. It's one of the most in depth storyline in k pop right now.

This was filmed at an abandoned mall in Thailand. They have a previous song called Answer and the dining room from that video is used here too. Ateez often pulls lots of genres into a song. The Main vocalist is Jongho-he has a pretty big vocal range (he’s hit B5 on live stages and a D6 in a high note challenge). Their story is complicated-but being honest I don’t know it well enough to explain it.

The hala part comes from (Hearts Awakened, Live Alive) it's an abbreviation for one of their previous songs (hala hala). The zia part though.. We don't know 😭 someone asked san what does it mean and he said he can't tell until he gets a confirmation

zia means light in arabic, and the song is continuously mentioning light on the lyrics 👀

@@haIazia hmmm, but not quite, i'm a native arabic speaker and light (ضياء) is actually pronounced dhia'a, very different than zia, especially that it has two letters that aren't a part of the english alphabet, but yes some people turn (ض) to (z) and make (ء) shorter than it should be and simply pronounce it like (ah) so i see where you're coming from, it would be cool if it was the case, but i still think it's unlikely

In Ateez storyline the universe was split into 8 dimensions, this was our introduction to Ateez in another dimension named Halazia, so far we’ve only met three of the different versions of themselves, Ateez, Halateez, and now presumably Halazia.
