The reason the songs and their voices go so well together is because they have each person do every part in each song, and then they award parts based on how well they did the part, how their voice fits the song, and how their voices sound together. A lot of companies assign parts ahead of time based on role (main, lead, sub vocal/rapper). By selecting after they've listened to everyone, they always get the best possible vocals for each song.

Thank you for your reaction to Ateez! We were very excited they were the first 4th Gen boy group invited. So many people just associate Ateez to their amazing live performances and high quality MVs and don’t realize how great they can sing and how amazing their production is. KQ (their company) has an in-house production team (Dreamcatcher also uses them) called Edenary which includes two of the members. Hongjoong (the short rapper wearing the glasses) is the Captain (leader) and was the first KQ trainee and has a lot of influence on the overall sound. They are also known for both their non-standard song flows including anti-drops and multiple layers bridges and choruses. Many of their songs are like anthems. They have a nickname as the ‘last 30 second idols’ due to their tendency to have explosive ending to their songs. For true music fans, what really sets them apart is their B-sides. They have an incredibly full discography that incorporates a lot of genres, but still has an Ateez signature sound. Oh… and they also have Jongho (far left)… widely regarded as the best singer of the 4th generation of K-pop.

As you were asking, it’s pronounce Ay-teez rather than Ah-teez. The K-Hot Chilli Peppers isn’t a reference to the band by the way, it’s the translation of a line in their song about spicy Korean chilli peppers. They have chillis in the music video as well.
